I like the idea of a 'What If' set in the 86 movie, but dear god, please don't let Prime not-die because Hot Rod didn't interfere. It's only going to fuel the disproportionate angry rage some people have even more!

Seconded. Man, this is going to be such a great arc! And bring on that Deviation! That's going to be such a great read! So what is that Transformers #51 cover implying, is Optimus not himself???
I was the one who asked Nick. I took it to mean that he had a personal issue/other commitments that meant he couldn't get the last two issues done for February and March, so IDW's letting them be delayed a couple more months.
It looks like Prowl's mental "ghost" inside Optimus (leftover from combining into Optimus Maximus) might be influencing him act more like Prowl would. I'm not sure what this suggests about Prowl's fate at the end of Sins of the Wreckers, but at the very least I like that Combiner Wars is actually having consequences further down the line and hasn't just been forgotten completely.
Nope, they said March when it was first announced. No more than Prowl wasn't himself after combining with the Constructicons (meaning he was still pretty much himself). It's just that, as Prowl said back in #42, there's an "echo" of himself inside Optimus after they combined.
Loving what I'm seeing here. The quote from Tarn is absolutely chilling. This is pretty much what I was thinking.
If that is the case it makes interesting for Mirage, Sunstreaker and Ironhide basically. It would interesting see what happens to all involved.
Not sure about Mirage and Ironhide, but Sunstreaker might have something to do with this plotline given that he's joining the book once AHO starts.
I'm glad we're getting the fluffy #47 and #48 MTMTE issues out of the way to focus on some serious stuff in March.
So the Prowl portion of Optimus Maximus' gestalt mind is going to start creeping up on Optimus? I'm so tired of evil Prowl.
