Tbh, if hasbro is in it to make money, they can still release the 2 TT molds from the UW sets down the road... we all know they'd sell.

I'm in no hurry for Takara Bruticus. I'm still waiting on Devastator. Then I need to let my wallet recover.

Does anyone know if Hasbro and/or TT are still planning on doing the different color variations of Brawl and Onslaught?

And Takara Tomy isn't? Let us be honest the only reason Hasbro didn't do it is because they didn't think it would make as much money as they would have wanted and the sunk costs from a one use mold couldn't be recuperated like they have done with the other CW molds.

I believe ron8675309 is referring to the reports that Hasbro would do both a "toy accurate" and "cartoon accurate" version of, at least, Onslaught (I don't recall the same said about Brawl). I haven't heard anything new on that in months, however.

Thats kind of an inferior standpoint, as there are multiple repaint potential just for shuttle blastoff, as well as using the remodeling potential for other characters down the road - case in point, cw ghost starscream, zombie breakdown, etc... hasbro just flat out didn't want to do it... yet.

They may never, but the option is still valid.

And to get technical, hasbro and TT use the same molds... they are invested from the start. It'S just a matter of the beans adding up if they choose to use a mold.

Hasbro didn't have any problem getting rid of all those Slingers and Brake-Necks.

As far as making money goes, no duh both Hasbro and Takara are in it to turn a profit. But people seem to forget that their respective markets produce money differently for different products.

Sooo.... About that whole eating crow thing about UW Groove... Applies here as well. Don't get me wrong, I want a shuttle Blast Off, I think he's more necessary than Deluxe Groove, at least right now, since we have A Groove, perhaps not the definitive one, but A Groove, at least.

We don't have a shuttle Blast Off, on either side of the pond. I know Takara's working on one, I'm looking forward to it, but as much as it pains me to admit it... Hasbro's Blast Off is actually pretty nice once you have him in hand.

*sighs* Yes, I concede that a Harrier jet makes more sense in a militaristic team than a space shuttle does, and he looks nice mixed in with his teammates. (I still at least want to see the shuttle version, though...)

The one thing that's absolutely non-negotiable about this Blast Off is the head. It either needs modded (I have a face plate I can glue to him, actually) or needs a whole brand new and accurate head to replace it. Neck down, however...I can definitely work with it.

In hand, Bruticus is really nice, looks fantastic, but the problems need to be addressed somehow.

-Leans forward too much. Worse than Defensor. I'm not sure why, either, but it's definitely worse on the Onslaught use of the mold, than it is the Hot Spot use.

-The handle design on Shockwave does not, I repeat does not, work with the current PE upgrade kit hands. The dual post system won't allow the fingers to even try and grip the handle, and if you can find a way to wedge them in, it's a very loose hold and it's at an odd and very useless angle.

-The included hand/feet/weapon accessory is woefully undersized and badly designed for a combiner such as this. Bruticus has these thick, powerful treestump looking legs and these dainty little feet that would barely support a 2 year old, while the hands look massive on Blast Off and Vortex. Even if the PE set can't grip Shockwave's handle, I'm fine with that, because Bruticus NEEDS the upgrade kit. NEEDS it. You could probably get away with the Hasbro accessories for Superion/Galvatronus, because they're both pretty well balanced, but for a combiner such as Defensor/Bruticus, where both are bulky hulks, you need the PE kits.

If you can get Bruticus, even if it's a temporary fix until Takara's comes along, I recommend him. He's really quite nice in hand.

    I think we do...

How can we be honest, when we don't know that's the truth? I'm sure they could make a few reprints, hell, Afterburner, Wreck Gar just to name a couple, I'm sure there's more. And for a shuttle, not that I'd want to see it, but Astrotrain, and I'm sure even if they Made a couple new guys up.

I'm holding off for Shuttle dude myself, I can wait, even though it's a bitch.

And I personally don't like those PE sets myself, they look like clown feet, way too big in my opinion. I just wish we had the same set ups as before, individual hands and feet. As feet they are too small and as the hands they are too big, it's like WTF man...

It's insane how they mass shift right before your eyes without zero effort. It's literally folding or unfolding it and that's all the difference is. Gets me every time.

That said, I get why you feel the PE sets are "clown shoes" but with legs this stumpy, they'd fit in just fine with Bruticus. I think the PE hands might be a bit too skeletal for a combiner like this.

So... Mistransformed mine to match this configuration, unfortunately stuck with stock weaponry/feet/hands until the PE set becomes available, but I must say, it really does bulk him up and it gets rid of the gorilla arm syndrome.

Fantastic. I just wish the shoulders and chest would lock in in this configuration, but it holds, it looks spectacular and it just flat out works like a baus.

I'll probably have the PE hands and feet first because I'm waiting on the Takara version of Bruticus.

The feet are actually pretty in-scale with the rest of Bruticus. It's much more appealing than the tiny girl feet that originally came with him.
