Never done business with them, but something about dealing with a Japanese retailer makes me uneasy. Also, is the shipping really that much cheaper if you are importing say, 6-12 toys at a time? It looks like with the insurance added, you may be at or just under what you could get it for in the US.
Let's get real for a second. This is great and all but the MP they really need to reissue now is Prowl. Dude is sold out everywhere. Would love to snag a second Prowl from AE for a friend of mine who always wanted him as a kid.
They need to reissue MP10B WITH trailer this time. This guy is sold out just about everywhere and if you can find one it will no go for less than $200 if you're lucky and that's with NO trailer. Also Takara needs to start putting pins in the index finger tips of their MP10 and MP13 molds so they don't pop off! If the KO versions can do it so can HasTak!!
Yes it still a big savings as others who use them have posted here on various threads. He probably wants the AE price though...
Yeah the original MSRP with a 20-30% discount would be ideal. Wouldn't buy anything from an American website because I don't want to pay import tax either.
As Exodus mentions, absolutely yes you still observe relevant savings with large orders. I order a lot from AmiAmi, with orders often clocking in with 6-10+ items each month. Despite selecting EMS shipping, it still averages out to 600-1000 yen per item (and by that I mean large items, I'm not even counting random tiny things like QT or EZ figures). With the exchange rate, that's less than $6-10 per item. MP-10B is at least plausible since it was a retail release, but yeah I wouldn't expect it and I certainly don't expect it to come with a trailer this time. I'd expect a G2 Optimus with a black trailer that's mean to be dual-use is more likely, if Takara really wants to do a black trailer. And I agree on Sunstorm - exclusives rarely ever get re-released. MP-8X getting its re-release was highly unusual, and even then it was an Asian market thing only and still differed from the original. Sunstorm being an eHobby exclusive likely kills its chances at showing up again.
Haven't shipped 6-12 toys but have shipped 3 larger toys (MP-13) and the savings held up. I'm not as familiar with SAL rates, but EMS shipping gets cheaper per kg as the weight goes up and in my experience both AE and SAL/EMS shipping have baked in, so shouldn't be an additional cost unless you have an unusually high priced shipment. Will say that the savings from putting together a "large" shipment versus a couple of small ones is only a couple of dollars from what I've been charged.
Didn't they do a re release of some sorts? But I know the Japense etailers didn't get them only the American Etailers. Although agreed, sucks that they didn't get a re release. Ah didn't even notice where you were from but yeah that's even more savings too.
Yeah. Only Hasbro-Asia did a re-re-release of the Lambor-bros, with varying QC issues each time. Takara-Japan has not issued a re-release on the Lambor-bros, yet. Unlike MP-10, MP-21G, this upcoming MP-20 WheelJack and MP-22 UM. I think the Datsun-bros got a Takara-Japan re-release also, but not sure anymore.
There was a reissue of MP-10B, it was in the November or December of 2013, whereas the first issue was March. It appeared to be Hasbro-Asia only as it came with a coin; I preordered one from BBTS at the time. I know that's of little comfort to those who want one though.
Still on the fence about this. AE has it for $38, but I have other orders with them, and while they've consistently delivered, I don't want to have too much money in limbo with a company that has a reputation for poor customer service.
HLJ restock date on MP-20 When I placed an order for Wheeljack from HLJ yesterday at ~10:30 AM Eastern time US, the listing said December Restock. I logged back in to HLJ just now, and it has been changed to May Restock.
Weird. Mine is saying December Restock right now despite it listing May when I placed the order 2 days ago
