I think it's exactly the same.

I have no skin in this one since I jumped ship long ago, but I do want to point out the more squat look of the recent photos may be due in part to the mentioning on the first page that the height can be adjusted.

Also, it was already known fairly early on that the the altmode would not be 100% scaled to Sideswipe.

There's a picture on the first page showing where the differences are.

I wish I could take bits from this and Badcube's and mash them together for the perfect Sunstreaker. As it is, neither offering is perfect, but I think both are very close despite being polar opposite transformation designs.

 

No wonder Omni rarely turns up anymore. Good lord, is it really so difficult to express your critiques in a slightly less juvenile, less insulting fashion?

I'm not a huge fan of the head sculpt. There was never any promise of alternate heads, just a possibility. I hope that the possibility pans out, because this is possibly my least favorite option of those shown.

Does the figure look exactly like Toon model? No. But it does look like what a real robot would look like with a lambo cab for a torso and front for feet, without Toon cheating. I love that they went for that, without cheats like faux parts. If that means it ends up looking broader than Sideswipe, so be it.

 

I like the rear of vehicle mode much more on Spinout, but the chest in robot mode....not so much...

 

Oh, good gravy. Neither offering ( Spin or Surge) is going to scale precisely with MP12 Swipe. THAT will only happen once Takara decides to finally release their own MP Sunstreaker.

I'm happy with how Spin looks (though those fins of his do make me giggle a bit. They may not be exactly Sunny, but they're adorable). I'm looking forward to placing him next to Swipe. Right now, I have Asterisk Sunstreaker standing in (and he's a freaking Viper).

All I want to know is, when in 2016 will he be released? (since we're at the end of 2015)

 

When I stare at the big picture, where I can see his face the best, there is something about the face I do like. Maybe I'll end up being okay with this head after all. (although I still hope he comes with more than one- I really did like the last grey proto head shown)

 

Funnily enough, I'm the opposite - I really disliked the last prototype head shown (I assume you mean this one?), but I loved the one in the earlier grey prototypes:



The most recent one looks as though they've combined elements of both, though - it seems to have the helmet of the original and the face of the later one - so I wonder if they just decided to merge them into one.

As I said up-thread, it's not like MP Sideswipe has a great face sculpt, either, so maybe they just wanted to match it.   Obviously these things are always subject to change during production; it's just frustrating when something you thought looked perfect before gets changed. But hopefully we'll get more news soon on what is and isn't included.

 

He does look a bit fatter, but like gundog, I love the G1 toy to him. Wish he get released already and hopefully with an alt head. Or maybe some else with sell a new head set.

Honestly, the one I like best probably isn't the most accurate to other Sunstreaker versions. But I still found it the most pleasing.

I like the original G1 toy head much better than most of the reinterpretations we've gotten over the years (at least in toy form).

I agree there! I love the G1 toy head sculpt, and how it appears in the G1 box-art.

 

Oh I'm still onboard - it just looks like this thing's appearance has changed as the months have gone by.

 

At this point I just want the darned thing to come out!

 

It looks like he has been shrunk? To match height with MP Sideswipe? Now the ALT mode is smaller? That is disappointing. I didn't mind Sunstreaker being a bit taller if the ALT modes were accurate and he had a good transformation.

The intakes behind his head seem to have been changed and other things people have pointed out.

Overall I still like the design, but those were a couple mistakes made in my opinion. I'll have to look hard to decide if I am going to get either one of these 3P Sunstreakers...

 

gonna wait for more pictures to come out adn give it a chance...this had been my most anticipated for a awhile but the morepictures we get...the less i seem to like it. the photography isn't flattering or this thing ahs changed..can't tell.

 

Sheesh people are cranky after the holiday. I agree it's proportions look strange in spots, but some of the hyperbole people are throwing around is just ridiculous.

 

i think if the quality is there i will get back to this yellow bozo. i like the new shots of him next to his red brother!

I got BC ordered for now, maybe i will get both and decide which will look better in hands.

 

I like him still... the head doesn't bother me as Sideswipe has a low forehead too, and I think the chest piece is more reminiscent of armor than of being fat.

December. Although take that with a pinch of salt. Omnigonix has been known to be a bit on the slow side, to be brutally honest.

Personally I'm excited. I think he matches with Sideswipe very well.

 

Tfs Express UK said it will be released by the end of December... so let´s set we can have him by January  

 

there was a time when omni thought he'd be out by year's end....and by year i meant 2014. haha. anyway, let's see what they got. despite my issues with it, its still a great design that deserves to be realized.
