Yeah, the eyes are just normal gold stickers now unlike the G1 release which was vacuum metal. It actually makes the figure look really cheap now in the face and it's a terrible change: Differences between G1 Trypticon and Hasbro G1 Reissue Platinum Trypticon - Transformers



And yes, as someone said, there is a difference in the battery cover as well.

Yeah, and that price is pure CRAP. It's worth $140.00 at the MOST and what I'm really hoping for is $120.00 or less.

With it looking like Trypticon winning the Hasbro Titan pole there isn't a tremendous need to shell out big bucks on retro. So I will wait until the price is right. if the price is never right, (shrugs) then they can keep it.

Grabbed him for $118 - I feel OK about that price - $200 was crazy

 

And purchased. I could probably have lived without him at the $165 price but $120 is much closer to what I was expecting when he was first announced. It will be nice to finally have Typticon and Metroplex on the same shelf.

 

Purchased. Was hoping for $99 but I also would like money to grow on trees and for every MP figure to be readily available whenever I want at a reasonable price. So yeah, I will bite at $118.

I went with the impulse and got him... After shipping it worked out to about $200 AUD, which is half of what TRU is selling him for. Still not sure if I'll have buyer's remorse later..

 

If you do, I imagine it will be pretty easy to offload him to another fan and recuperate most of the cost. At least that's what I told myself.

Gotta say, I'm pretty jazzed to get him. Trypticon was always one of those weird gaps in my collection... I never had him as a kid, didn't really know anyone else who had him, and never got around to picking him up as an adult. I don't think I've ever even fiddled around with him at a convention or anything. So he's essentially a brand new G1 toy for me, which gives me quite a warm and fuzzy feeling of anticipation.

 

Bummer missed out on him at that price. Also after hearing about some of them with dinged up boxes coming in a lil hesitant there. Even at that price if he was dinged up Id be ticked.
