There's carving of plastic needed. It's in a thread here on TFW.

I was talking specifically about Wildrider and his leg mode. Both Hasbro and Takara uses of him on leg mode gap.

Yeah, the knees AFAIK do not need modding on a non-defective unit.

There's a persistent mold issue with one of Hot Spot's legs where there's a tiny bit too much plastic on one of the pegs holding his lower leg together. It leaves a gap just a bit too wide for the properly-transformed thigh to clip in. I had to mod mine to get it to work, as did many others. (The other leg works fine out of the box.)

Are we talking about the combiner thigh here? Sorry, only following this part of the thread half, but my Defensor's right thigh just won't lock, which is annoying as hell. Cutting off more plastic seems a bit counterintuitive, but if this is indeed the problem I'd love to learn more...

It does affect clipping the leg together both in robot and combiner modes, yes. I'll have to see if I can dig up the mod. One of the admins here did a write up on it months ago.

    EDIT : Here it is.

In the pictures of the G2 Combaticons.... Onslaught's torso seems to close up properly...

No, that's apparently an alternate transformation of the torso, which folds together better but still does not lock into place. Here's an update video from Optibotimus (scroll to about 2:50) where he tries that method.

Oh jeez, that's not right either then... thanks for the heads up. Wow Hasbro... just wow.
