I thought I was pretty honest about Sphinx, and pretty much anything I have ever reviewed. Are you referring only to the video review variety?

I tend to agree with you but I find Bobby Skullface makes some pretty stupid observations. Like criticizing things that you don't need a review for. The figure has 5mm peg hands, Doesn't like the way the figure looks, No shit we can figure that out by looking. Reviews are for quality and production value I don't really care what he thinks about how a figure looks. I get pages of that here.

I hate watching a review just to see a figure nitpicked to death because of things the reviewer doesn't like. If you hate the paint job, keep it to yourself, if the figure has an actual defect about the paint, tell me about it.

Show me the figure from various angles, pose it, transform it, compare it to other figures.

I still don't recall anything about loose limbs or swivels in your review, just glanced over again and still didn't see anything. Totally get that even now people are getting both good and loose copies of the figure but to not have ANY of the early reviewers mention anything about looseness in joints/swivels when it's about a 50/50 report from owners in hand right now (I'm one of the loose owners btw), it is a bit disheartening.

I know you are a good dude maz and I honestly don't want to think that anyone that helped support this project or give early feedback was swaying people, but it is a tough pill to swallow seeing how many are reporting those issues now..and like I said I have one in front of me right now with the issues.

You know there is a simple solution to this? Close your browser window. Everyone does reviews differently. Everyone has a different style and mix of both factual information and personal opinion. I've yet to read or watch any reviewer that doesn't slip in their personal opinions here and there. It is a hobby after all and people get passionate about different things. If you don't like something opinionated a reviewer is saying, just take it with a grain of salt, or move on to the next review. Personally I like discerning the info myself and having a variety of unique sources to watch and read from.

It just didn't help in this situation because nobody reported any looseness in the early reviews.

parachute is inside the actual sphinx box.

yes, you would have to open the main box, remove the chute and then retape/seal. so no, you would not be able to sell misb if you want to keep the chute.

I appreciate the kinds words mate.

Paragraph 9 of my review (Ocular Max Sphinx – Perfection Indeed | Source Blog)

    Paragraph 11:

I don't know if that qualifies but those were genuinely the only loose limb issues I had/have with my Sphinx, and mine was a production version, not a pre-release copy.

Thanks for pointing out a couple points of reference where you noticed something similar. Like I said I just glimpsed again and couldn't remember anything particular off hand.

Mine is unfortunately about as bad or worse than my v1 scoria. Really kinda sad for a figure this size when the forearm is even hollow and there's not much weight there at all. My hip swivels are awful too but that may be fixable with some future. Will have to look into it eventually.

The only video reviewers I regularly watch are TMan978, The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer, Peaugh, Vangelus, and Thew. I've never had any doubts about their honesty.

For picture reviews I look at feedback threads on the forums and Maz's reviews. Never doubted those, either. I actually prefer picture reviews, especially when photographed well.

I'll be taking a look at my MMC Mirage tonight. I'll report back if there are any qc issues with it. If the hips have any resistance, I'll take them apart before moving them to see if there's any stress like Sup3hobo reported.

You dont have to watch/read a review and completely agree to it but it helps alot in your decision before spending on the figure....alot of $$$ that is.
Dont know about others but I follow reviews not for the obvious but for hidden things about the figure that are not shown on those nicey nice photos, the transformation and any hidden issues that you definitely will not see until you have it in hand and fiddle with it. To date if it werent for those reviews, it would have been $600 worth of regret on my part.

I was stating my opinion, can't be helped if not everyone agrees with it. If not, it's really not my issue if they don't. And that's not exactly what I'm talking about anyway, I'm referring to some reviews I've seen where the figure is nitpicked for half the video. Have an opinion, make comments, but if you hate the figure I don't want to hear about it ad nauseam while trying to get a balanced review.

Again, it was simply my opinion on the topic. There are reviewers I don't watch because of things like that. Some I can ignore because they don't huff and puff about dislikes every two seconds, they comment and move on.

And as for the looseness, since my figure doesn't have even half the issues others seem to have, maybe the review samples didn't either. Paiks seems to appear tight and not have the issues, so how can it be reported if it's not there?

The test shot was shown to not be overly solid, and even was missing some tabs the final has.

But as far as any defects, usually they are pointed out, but as I've said before, not every figure has issues just because some have a bad one.

Mine has the loose shoulder, but it's only noticeable during transformation, in both modes it's locked in, not an issue. Everything else on mine is solid and tight.

I received mine today and I've been messing about with him and Tracks for the better part of the evening. The paint is clean and his joints are tight enough to hold a pose while giving him a bit of a light shake. I really like him and certainly recommend him. That said, he's not "perfection"... I've got 3 complaints:

I think the face sculpt is too soft around the cheeks, it makes him look to human.

That front steering bar really needs locking points for the wheels. Really really...

The track his arms run on don't have locking points. They hold their position in either mode perfectly fine but only because other parts hold them in. However, once you move those parts and your in mid-transformation the arms are a fiddly mess until you finish the transformation.

The face sculpt is just personal taste and it's really not that bad but the locking point issue for both the wheels and arms is a really silly oversite IMO. This absolutely should not be a thing.

The front wheel parts do kind of have a way to hinder the sag. The die cast parts can be rotated up and do stop, the plastic parts on the actual wheels will still sag if pushed on but it takes more force than before pushing the die cast up.

It also lowers the front of the car to a level position where before it's always shown as a bit more raised in the front.
