I thought I managed last year, but HTS had other plans. :mad

I so lucked out getting a Nemesis Prime from a board member for a reasonable price.

Too bad, I actually would have liked to have Roddy. No way in hell I'm paying more than retail for an Alt.

If this turns out like last year, I'll just be patient and get one off of eBay. I got my Nemesis Prime for $45 shipped. For an extra $20, I'll save myself the ulcer.

Hey, on the bright side, maybe so many people will be so burnt out over last year that they won't even try this year, and there'll be plenty of Rodimuses (Rodimi?) to go around..

My apologies for repeating the question, but does anyone know how much it is to get a walk-in registration for Comic-Con? Or do you HAVE to get the 4-day package (which is currently $55) to get in?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I love the Mirage mold, and I love Rodimus!

Seriously, though, that's a badass paintjob they did on him.

I can't really feel bad about not getting him, since I'm getting the Botcon exclusives this year. Congrats to those who can get him!

Maybe I can get one on eBay like I did for Nemesis Prime...

Well, it could be worse. Thu, July 26 - Sun, July 29, huh? So two more months to save up for it, a little less maybe if it's made available to asian retail. No problem. :D  At least this exclusive I have time and ability to afford, the price is reasonable for a single figure and there's no "at convention only" nonsense, unlike a certain other set of exclusives.

From past experience, a one-day registration is about $20. They usually announce the single day prices closer to the con, though.

Saturday is the biggest attendance day, so if you're only going for Rodimus, I suggest going Thursday, Friday or Sunday. And pre-reg if at all possible.

Pre-reg for single days right now is 25 each for thurs/fri, 30 for sat, and 15 for sun.

I eventually shelled out 70 for nemesis... I guess I will be doing the same again.

They just don't get it with these exclusives. Exclusives should be variations not new charatcers. Notice that it's a gold bender not another character. God it pisses me off.

Honestly, what are the advantages of making these. Did they really have a problem with attendance?

Ah, thank you. I couldn't find this year's prices anywhere, so I estimated from memory.

Well, there's a reason that Saturday is the biggest attendance day. It's a bear for a lot of us to take off of work! Some people enjoy conventions. Me? I absolutely hate crowds. And for me, this just wouldn't be a vacation opportunity. I just happen to live near enough to San Diego (a couple of hours or so) to make a day-trip a possibility, and so I'm considering it. But it looks like it will cost a good $50-60 (between registration and the cost of the toy itself, and that's if I just get the one-day registration) to get Rodimus. That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If I could SELL it for more than that, it might be worth the effort, but I just can't see it.

(Before someone accuses me of hypocrisy, I actually want the BotCon toys on their own merits. Rodimus is cool, but not $60 cool.)
