I think Glen is going to be "gone" for quite a few episodes leave the fans sitting in lingo for some time before he pops up again plus it puts the characters and their lives in limbo too (especially Maggie)
There is a theory running around that the whole scene is some sorta delusional vision in Nicholas' head. It cites the fact that Nicholas apparently was out of bullets before they climbed up on the dumpster which is a claim supported the sound of two dry fire clicks heard during the scene which couldn't have come from Glenn's pistol as he's on camera at the time clearly not pulling the trigger. Of course, Nicholas could've reloaded off camera too.
It's a bit Suss' as far as I'm concerned. I had read a post earlier today saying that Garret Dillahunt had been campaigning to play the role, but hadn't been approached about it yet.
Glenn better be alive because Spoiler he's gonna be a daddy! Notes: * Liked more focus on Deanna, Spencer and Aaron. They really feel like main cast members now. * Where's the Queen in this episode? * Last week's promos made it look like this was gonna be the one about Sasha, Abraham and Daryl. Weird. * Aaron's great. * I don't ship Spoiler Tara and Denise. That came out of nowhere. I'd prefer Tara and Rosita. * Aww, look at Alanna hiding her baby bump (not quite as successfully as she could've). Btw she just had her baby this week! * Really thought Deanna was gonna commit suicide. * Ron's a dick. He's Porch Dick, Jr. * Jessie's whole shtick about seeing the world for how it is feels so beaten like a dead horse, since they ramble about it in every episode. * Still a good episode. EDIT: Ooh. "Beaten" is SO not the right verb to use when talking about anything regarding Jessie. Ouch, didn't realize that.
After the week before last's episode, I was so worried any time two people stood above that herd of walkers; especially since Ron has a bit of a grudge against Rick and Spencer was probably more than a little drunk.
What's this? A Daryl sighting on next week's episode? It's ridiculous the little bit he's been on this season. Another fairly boring episode tonight.
I don't know if the production times overlap but Norman Reedus may've been busy filming the movies Air and/or Sky during the first half of the season six filming.
Ugh, and folks were complaining about last week's ep with Morgan and Eastman being a snoozefest (not me though, I actually enjoyed last week's ep). I did not enjoy this ep aside from the bits with Maggie and Aaron. I wanted very much to smack most every Alexandrian upside the head. Wasn't interested in seeing Rick and Jessie's relationship either, to be honest.
So... just piecing this together, I think this season takes place on groundhog's day. Figured that's what Maggie's comment from episode one was about.
Unlike most of the internet, I thought last weeks episode was rather solid. This weeks however, really dragged for me, to the point where I actually checked my mail and opened a browser window during the second half because it had bored me. It's not "search for Sophia" bad, but it's not that far away either.
This crap is gonna get old, fast. Where was Carol? She was mentioned a few times but I don't recall seeing her at all.
How'd everyone like it when everyone was by the zombie packed fences and Rick was yelling how everyone should stay quiet.
Yeah, the characters' handling of the walkers continues to exasperate me. Exactly why haven't rotations been set up where the Alexandrians take turns stabbing the walkers in the brain with spears and knives through holes/bars of the fence or atop the walls (rather than use guns to save on ammo)? Nope, they just let the walkers continue to gather and mass in numbers along the entire perimeter surrounding the town. Rick just wants to wait until the rest of his crew return for "reasons". Well, this is the damn perfect time to get the useless Alexandrians to confront their fears about the walkers and do some cleanup. The townsfolk also continue to piss me off with their continued asshat behavior.
I'm convinced the showrunners knew what a complete bag of ass this block of episodes was going to be, so they fabricated this whole Glenn thing as a distraction.
more to the point, how did Rick escape the RV surronded by a ton of Zombies? How did they not show him escaping and running towards town. WTF would he lead them right back to the gates? I bet the Glenn thing turns out much like this, we won't see how he escaped, he'll just be with a bunch of new people heading back to the town. Hope not but they seemed to just gloss over the whole Rick was trapped issue.
To be fair to Rick, the truck horn had already done its damage. There was no way of stopping that herd without an equally big distraction/noise. Rick running back to Alexandria seemed the least of their worries. But yeah, him escaping the RV was just glossed over without any explanation whatsoever, but then so did Glenn's escape from the walkers when he was ambushed by Nicholas. And with Maggie's announcement to Aaron, there's no way Glenn is dead now. Troll-y rope-a-dope by the writers is troll-y and a rope-a-dope.
If he ran all the way, the walkers shouldn't have been right behind him. The size and location of the herd is whatever the plot needs it to be at that point in time.
