MP Ramjet looks a lot better than the igear MP versions (not the raptors, the retooled MP KOs) Igear made the heads on the cone heads way too small. When I opened thrust all I could think was that his head looked like a vinyl cape Jawa. I'll probably wait for Dirge or Thrust because the mid wing jet engines overwhelm Ranjet's design in MP scale. I wish Has/Tak would make voyager seekers. I can't get excited about leader seekers that can only stand in the back row on the shelf and the raptors are silly expensive for what they are.
Untrue Vangelus, you stated, in an early even numbered podcast, that you saw the ending of Click in a movie theater and that you thought it was sad.
To each his own, but I find the complaining on Takara Masterpiece-11NR Ramjet bizarre when you allow so many compromises in combiner wars for reuse of molds. There's no way they'd top down design a new seeker after brand new molds for Rodimus and Shockwave in the MP line. And the major complaint is the legs? That's the animation model, wings sticking out at the side.
I really miss Hasui, and to be blunt I personally think every MP figure shown so far is at least somewhat flawed. Tracks: Greeblies in his legs are cut a bit too thickly. Prior details had used thin pencil sized lines. Instead, they tend to be the thickness of a sharpie. Also, the width of Tracks's arms & legs seems compromise to dual purpose him as Road Rage. Yes, Road Rage gets new molding, but the arm thickness remains the same. Ironhide: Just entirely too plain & greeble free. Head sculpt is okay (& better than the Voodoo one), but still feels off. Shockwave: Proportions give him weaker arms & legs compared to his cartoon look. Gun mode fails to completely hide the feet, and currently has an odd gap at the back. Not a fan of the color, and I'd rather not have light piping. Rodimus: Chest looks entirely wrong. Should have been made to work with a smaller Matrix (like the one that came w/ MP-09) to allow the chest to compress more. Matrix cavity (for MP-10 Matrix) just makes the proportions all weird. Now, don't get me wrong. These new MPs look okay, but at the same time they don't look like must buys. For me, Hasui designs were always superior to anything the 3rd party could come up with. Now, I have to take a hard look at all options. Maybe the designs will improve the further along we get, but these initial offerings fail to impress. Which is good, I guess, since my employer is cutting my hours down to 20, so I need to have less must buy things in my life. At least until I can get a better job.
By the way (Vangelus/Seth), this MP is pretty different when you really look at him - his knees/shins are different, and the cockpit area of his chest is actually upside-down relative to the original seekers. There's quite a bit of new engineering going on....
