Mine arrived today yay!

 

If I ever stop being lazy, I'll take pics of him next to Gen Blitzwing and Chigurgh in all three modes later. (Part of it is needing to put my Reprolabels set on Chigurgh and I don't wanna just yet)

 

You know, I used to discount this guy since I though he was missing some wheels, but it turns out that there are plenty of tanker trucks with exactly the same number of wheels as Provider. A quick Google search later and I found plenty of examples like this:

Well, every MP11 mold should work with it.

I know it is little silly, this guy really deserve to be in Masterpiece, but I want my Masterpiece close to cartoon and it is hard to get proper scale for Octane. But I think he should be slightly smaller than Starscream and it works.

And still hope for better face.

 

So for those who have him already, is it possible to swing those wing tips back to make his wings shorter? It appears one piece is on a ball joint but then there is some chrome on the back piece im not sure about.

I think his wings are fine, just curious if you could angle them back if you wanted to.

 

You can if you split his wings in half. The top half will go straight back, the bottom half will swing down behind his legs like giant coattails

 

Ok. Got this guy and spent a little bit of time messing around with him. Here's perhaps the most important thing about him: The first impression wasn't too great. Head sculpt was NOT what I would have wanted. A lack of G1 accuracy, lots of kibble, paint apps that weren't terrible but contained just a couple of paint errors. IMPORTANT NOTICE, THOUGH: Be careful transforming him. While you should be safe from stress marks given the plastic thickness and hardness, the edges may suffer dents/get smushed a little if they are pushed upon. Anyway, As soon as I got to playing around with him, I got to notice some great things. For example, there is a little hollow space that serves as a door handle in truck mode where a tab plugs in on his robot mode leg. There are also a lot of little details, especially on the front of his torso, that totally make him more and more accurate to the cartoon. Plus, I'm totally digging the giant wings! In addition to that, mine has, like, no QC issues or anything. It's also a lot of fun to transform him once you get the hang of it. There is, as has been said before, a lot of smart stuff going on and lots of attention to detail. However, it still has some issues. The above mentioned head sculpt, the lack of dynamic posing ability (though this doesn't personally bother me, and he is stable otherwise), the small tank issue, and the back kibble kind of cause problems. However, most of this stuff is a set of solutions for worse problems. Still, the head sculpt drives me up the wall. Its size bothers me no more than a little, but a slightly bigger (and less pointy) head crest would've done a little good, but the face is really where the problem is. I mean, there's no reason for it to not be G1-accurate and nice-looking. It just needs to have altered features and, um, fuller cheeks. (Not much else. Pretty much any facial expression will work with Octane, really.   ) Overall thoughts: Though it isn't perfect (there is no such thing), it's a great figure.   However, it isn't for everyone. If you don't like the character, you better not waste your money. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes the character and isn't driven off a cliff by the issues present.

You know, this beautiful thing has enough nice pegs and posts in his jet mode that hopefully these will be utilized so that he'll be able to carry a "soon-to-be-released" version of Astrotrain!
