yeah i got flamed for saying the ps3 is hard to program for. I guess people haven't relized that the reason it doesn't get at least ports is because it is hard of the lack of experience with bluray and programming problems due to the architecture of the system. no, the PS3 does not need ports. it needs original games. ports of games available on other systems don't sell systems.

Why is Diamond outselling Pearl? Though I did buy Diamond myself....so I might have answered my own question.
Most people I know bought Diamond, the legendary is more impressive, the exclusive Pokemon are cooler, and it the fact it's not red unlike other versions instead it's pink.
Except that each game ported to the PS3 means there is one less exclusive on another console. I have to wonder how loyal the Sony fanbase is. The Nintendo fans tend to be more rabid, and stuck with them at least through the N64 if not the GCN. Will the PSfans have the patience to wait for the PS3 to improve its fortunes, or will they walk away if it becomes perceived as a loser (which many are trying to say already, though it is much too early IMO).
from what I can see in the forums I go to, Playstation fans believe that the PS3 is a huge success and perfect in every way, and that the wii's sale numbers are fake because they dont come from a reliable source no matter what the source is. seriously. I wish I was joking, but I'm not.

The hardcore Sony fans have become the new hardcore Nintendo fans. Both are crazy-scary. You didn't realize it until watching the PS3 struggle like it is now... We already knew the Nintendo-only fanboys were nuts. They'd been getting the business for the last ten years. What a lot of people didn't know is that the Sony fanboys are right up there. They aren't taking the PS3 performance well.
Console fanboys are typically hilarious (nintendo fanboys in the N64 and GC days were especially funny), but Sony fanboys actually scare me.
When it comes to hardcore Sony fans. Think about how Sony has marketed the PS series. It's always been portrayed as being cool, while Nintendo is for kids. As such, many people were brought on not simply as gamers, but as people who also wish to be considered cool. Now, what do you suppose would happen if you suddenly told all these people that weren't cool anymore?
I don't think it has to do with stereotypes as much as it does the fact that hardcore Sony fanboys were total dicks about their system, and now Nintendo is actually selling something other than Pokemon and the Nintendo fanboys are getting their revenge.
