Huh? I've got every official revo TF and every figure CR has produced and never had a single issue with any joint. Plus, if you play with yours a lot and literally wear them out, replacement joints are pretty easy to find.

Clearly your experience differs from mine substantially.

I've never broken one yet, but they really are not good for these kind of things.

Not good for 4" figures, really? What kind of bad experiences have you encountered? What type of joint do you think would work better for a highly articulated 4" figure? Not arguing, just genuinely curious.

Again, I've never had an issue, and I'd be opposed to CR deviating from what they and the official revos have used in the past. For display, I want them to match. And for dynamic posing, I couldn't ask for better, personally.

I take it you've never collected some of the later Mobile Suit in Action figures, or Robot Spirits? Heck even smaller gunpla have much better articulation these days to the point some older ones are being revised to bring them up to date with modern standards.

I have a few MSIA/RS figures, but I've never taken them out of the package. I bought them for customs that I haven't gotten around to yet.

Regardless, even if revo joints are no longer state of the art, why would you want to change them? They are more than sufficient for what these figures are, and they all match aesthetically. Pat Lee is no longer a fav artist of TF fans (if he ever was), but I wouldn't want them to suddenly emulate a completely different look/style either, as it would render a collection rather disjointed. The same applies to the joints.

IMO, I would argue these CR figures are for fans of the original TF revos who simply want more of that, not someone looking to start a new collection of the latest and greatest in small non-transforming figures.

If being limited by an aged system is truly sufficient to you then fine. For my money I just think it's time they not only moved on to better things, but revise the antiquated nonsense to go with it.

Revoltech joints do not have the full range of Robot Spirits, but they are designed in a way that allows for much more dynamic posing.

Orthodox joints such as Robot Spirits are connected in perpendiculars that allow for straight profiles and such. Revol joints are designed at angles that allow for much more character.

They're also ratcheted up to motherf*ck so they can ONLY be in certain angles... which is fine if you want starscream or rodimus stuck in a perpetual pelvic thrust when they're not on their stands.

Yea there are ratchets, but it's not like there are only 4 available. There are plenty in there.

You've clearly not played with a Revo Transformer before. Not properly, anyway.

I welcome you to mind your assumptions, as I happen own(with the exception of whiteimus prime) all 4 of the official revoltech TFs and have fiddled with them a great deal.

It has nothing to do with being aged or antiquated. You make it sound like these are kenner t-crotch figures from 1978. It's about having figures that are consistent in appearance and build with already existing figures. If you want to advocate for something new and different, it might be best if it becomes its own new thing.

I would argue that if you don't like them for what they are, then these are probably not the droids you're looking for. I suspect most TF revo collectors prefer consistency over "new-and-improved" in this line.

    My .02 anyway.

According to him, he's got most of the Kaiyodo TFs already. Who knows why he'd want to change it this far into the game.

I'd gladly throw the ones I have to the wayside assuming something better comes along to replace them, I'm just saying why not start now instead of dragging this out?

But hey, who am I to hope for something better.

You're assuming that these designs are "broken" and in need of improvement. It just sounds like you're wishing they are something they are not. Saying that you want revoltech transformers to not be revoltechs seems to miss the point.

I'm more than satisfied with what I have now. And if Custom Robot keeps putting out their designs, I'll gladly scoop up more.

Granted, I'd have to find a place that stocks them now that CGA is MIA.

These all look really cool. I'm gonna pick one up and see if I like them. I'm not sure if I will though, but its worth a shot
