Definitely seeing the Onslaught mold there. Although it looks more like Hot Spot to me.

    Perhaps they'll advertise the "scorpion/lobster mode" as a triple-changer feature ;)

Now that we (possibly) know all the members of Predacus, I would have actually made Tarantulas either the Deluxe Groove as one of the limbs, or the Legends Groove as the chest piece (to make Predacus six members instead of five) to homage his appearance in "Theft of the Golden Disk." And if Predacus had to be six members as I just described, then the Rook mold currently being used for Tarantulas should have been Megatron to homage his Botcon 1996 toy:

The Onslaught mold...ok that's cool with me. I have Hot Spot and think its the bees knees.

as for the Cybertron Scattorshot from Onslaught...YES JUST YES. It'd be more fitting than Demolisher.

I hope it's not Onslaught/Hot Spot, simply because we're getting that base mold from the club already in TFSS 4. Hope they use one of the other voyager bases.

This. Between Bruticus, Defensor, Victorion, and Mayhem Maximus, I need a break from that mold.

I'd be okay with that, actually, since they've already shown there's going to be a retool of Silverbolt to be Scattershot. We'd get double Scattershots and a nice Cybertron homage, too, although as has been pointed out, that mold is seeing a lot of re-use among exclusives.

Optimus mold = Optimus, Power Core Optimus, Motor Master, Grand Scourge, G2 Motor Master

Silverbolt mold = Silverbolt, G2 Silverbolt, Afterburner, Cyclonus

There really isn't a choice of voyager torso that hasn't worn out its welcome at this point. This puts me really in favor of them using the skylynx mold, simply for sake of variety.

Where would you put Sea Clamp's robot head on the Skylynx mold, exactly? He doesn't turn into a humanoid robot, much less a humanoid robot with a humanoid head.

I hope that a Skylynx/ Magnetron retool is consider at least for a souvenir set. It would make a good idea not to utilise the mold.

Are any of the other three available molds really going to look like sea clamp anyways? Its most likely going to be the hotspot/onslought mold, but for people like me, that are getting 4.0, its the most redundant choice they could make. Afterburner might work, but that mold is meh at best...

Man FP kinda stuck on this one. Sea clamp's animated head is undetailed and fugly to begin with, so they better knock it outta the park with his deco, Tripredacus's head, and the overall unified color scheme of the combiner, this thing really needs to be better than the sum of its parts.

Not that I would hate the use of Skylynx, but that would have to be one extensive retool to get it looking anywhere near Sea Clamp.

At this point I wouldn't mind the use of the Motormaster/Optimus or Silverbolt/Scattershot/Cyclonus molds, simply because they would be the lesser of the three redundancies. And that's not even counting the straight G2 repaints.

Well, yeah, because Sea Clamp had a humanoid robot mode, and Skylynx didn't. And it would make no sense to extensively retool Skylynx to have a humanoid robot mode when there are three other molds that already do.

Plus, no one said that any molds were retooled for this set, only that there were five new heads.

As for the alt-mode? No, none of the four Voyager molds look anything like a lobster. And since lobsters don't fly, it's safe to assume that the mold won't be Silverbolt/Cyclonus, or Skylynx. So, Optimus/Motormaster? Maybe. But logically the best mold to use to represent Sea Clamp is Hotshot, because the humanoid mode is long and thin, and there's a possible third-mode as a scorpion/crustacean type thing.

In case you havent figured it out, I am not married to the idea of the mold they choose fitting toy sea clamp, this predacus thing is already pretty far off the reserve anyways. But as I already said, my thoughts on it aside, it will probably be hotspot/onslought.

...Unless there's a Hasbro retooling of Sky Lynx we're not aware of. Similar to Brawl/Nosecone.

No need to get personal, as I sure wasn't. Was only pointing out the illogic of using the Skylynx mold as opposed to the Hot Spot mold. We actually don't even know yet what mold they'll be using; I was basing my belief off of the silhouette in the artwork.

The Hot Spot mold proper has only had one use, whereas the Onslaught retool is already getting another use with Bludgeon. I highly doubt they'll use the Silverbolt mold either. So that leaves either the Optimus mold, the Hot Spot mold, or Sky Lynx.

I do like his colors. Hmm... I keep saying I'm not going to get this set, but something is pulling me in. Maybe it's the fact that all 5 figures tie in to a theme really well? Even if it's odd that Tarantulas and Ravage are part of the combiner, it still feels like a really good theme compared to what we've gotten lately.

so how much longer until they reveal seaclamp? i'm hoping it's either motormaster's or pyra magna's specific molds. i'm also hoping the combined mode has a predaking head and victorion's weapons, feet and hands.

I would assume by the end of this week. Maybe a tease tomorrow or Wednesday with the full pic Thursday.

The real question would be when do they show off the combined mode.
