Well beyond a slide or two in the 3rd party panel and having the protos there. I did not see anything promoting the Kickstarter. I thought to see at least a sign or something.

 

Yeah, I was expecting at least *some* sort of effort related to the Kickstarter. But even the slides during the presentation were met by pretty much silence, save one guy behind me that literally booed.

The human protos did nothing for me in person, I have to say. The proportions just feel wonky.

But the purple demon skeleton dude (is that Desolotaur?) is kinda neat. I do wish this could've gotten off the ground, if only so I could get one or two of the bats down the road. Alas.

 

Middle fingers eh? Classy people. I think I'm starting to understand what Rik Alvarez meant when he was going on about the suits at Hasbro not letting him make what he wanted to make.

 

Maybe they know it is not going to make it and it was just a message for all their "fans"? LOL

Here's an update from them:

 

I wonder if they'll try for a third time, or go back to the drawing board and develope something that fans actually want.

 

Kickstarter turned out to be PWTTs own worst enemy. They should have dropped their own money on the table instead of expecting fans to fund their entire company. Just like the stock market, no risk, no reward. They chose to "play it safe" with kickstarter and it failed both times.

It also didnt help that they were trying to push action figures to a fandom that clearly wants transformable robots. They might have sold better if they had dropped the obvious pretender homages and designed truly original characters geared more toward the marvel superhero fanbase.

If your going to try to push a product geared towards transformer fans, make sure it actually transforms. Thats the bottom line.

 

i think they could recoup their losses if they bang out a bunch of those bobs for sale, no kickstarter, along with all the bmogs and maybe the tech drones....people like pretenders just....not like this i suppose.
