Could be. It's the idea used in Japanese Headmasters - the head is the actual robot, the giant body is just a drone it controls. I prefer that to the US fiction, honestly.

Okay, seeing the official images I now think he's incredibly orange and his alt modes are awful.

Wouldn't it be something if the Sentinel mold was built in such a way that any two versions of it could combine like Energon Omega?

It's a stretch, but a fun thing to look for once somebody can get a good look at the mold in hand. Especially train mode.

Same here. Having your consciousness at the mercy of some other guy sounds like a miserable existence.

I think his alt modes are great - for Astrotrain.

 

I have an official Sentinel Prime figure. He turns into a blue snowplow and he looks much better than this guy.

I think the Classics version pulls off both alt modes way, way better.

 

If I can leave the head on and completely ignore the headmaster gimmick I might pick this up.

I'll pick this mold up when they repaint it as Astrotrain. Not feeling Sent. Prime but excited about how awesome a Voyager scale Astrotrain will look using this mold.

 

I don't like this mold for Sentinel Prime. Hope Astrotrain looks really good when they get him setup in this mold though. I think it was really conceived for AT anyway.

 

I prefer "law and order hardass" over "roboTick" myself.

 

He looks kinda like the Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets God Pheonix. With just a touch of Daitarn 3 thrown in. Kinda bleach.

 

I'm pretty excited about a Voyager Astrotrain, too. Although now Octane will look a bit out of place being the only deluxe triple changer. Hmm. Hasbro, quick, Voyager Octane!

I'm hoping a third party puts out apex armor for SP. That'll help differentiate him from Astrotrain a bit more on my shelf.

I think Hasbro should have done Astrotrain first and Sentinel as the retool, since everyone is saying "This should have been Astrotrain!" Astrotrain is a better-known character too...then again, maybe that's why they did the obscure guy for this mold first.
