So I finally saw The Friendship Games. A slight step below from Rainbow Rocks but still a thousand times better than the first movie. It was great to finally see the human Twilight meet the Canterlot High crew, oh and that ending Spoiler with pony Twilight barging in like that. That was great. wow I never knew that MasterZero. I've been wondering that as well unless he puts on the facade that he's a reasonable nice guy.
Every time I try to imagine Filthy putting on a nice guy facade, I just flashback to when he forced Diamond Tiara to do the rabbit dance for no reasonable gain.
I just watched the new episode. I'm in shock right now. IT HAPPENED! BEST EPISODE!! Edit: A few of the best parts now that I am out of shock and can get my thoughts straight. First the obvious ones -Silver Spoon no longer follower -Diamond Tiara's redemption handled in a way that reminds me of Pacifica Northwest's redemption. -THE CRUSADERS GOT THEIR CUTIE MARKS! other great parts -Musical episode with some great songs. The chase song was the best -some great faces -Rarity singing to Sweetie was cute. -Rainbow singing to scoot was WAY cuter. I squeed and cried.
Psh. Ain't no thang. I hope not. I like the idea of him being a genuine nice guy. Ah, there are many answers to this question. Writers, get on it. Some ideas are 1. Arranged marriage! Hey, rich ponies be crazy. 2. Opposites attract. The only pony she isn't a bitch to is her husband. 3. My favorite. When they were younger she was a different mare. Nicer and kinder. But age has not given wisdom, but instead made her vile, mean, and paranoid. Filthy is too far in denial to admit his loving wife has descended into an abusive bitch and whenever Spoiled abuses their child he tries to tell her that "Mommy is just trying to look out for her." A disturbingly realistic depiction of an abusive relationship. YAAAY! MY LITTLE PONY! Duh duh duh doo doo!
Calling it now; pregnancy. I started re-watching the series with my children, well, when they feel like wandering into the room. Despite more time passing, the show's great strengths of excellent art design matched to clever animation, witty writing that works on a few levels and stellar voice work maintain the show's position as one of the best overall cartoons in the past ten years. There's still the occasional rough episode but nothing's perfect, but it's bloody close. And Princess Luna remains, dare I revive the meme, best pony.
A pretty good episode. Kinda reminded me of Magic Mystery Cure. Spoiler I'm not too big on the CMC's cutie marks, admittedly. (me complaining about something? Rare, I know) I'd had my heart kinda set on the "Carpentry, singing, Scootering" cutie marks. This cutie mark practically binds them to each other for the rest of their lives.
It may be a bit odd, but I have a theory. Diamond Tiara has a cutie mark with five points on her crown. The song visually gave us an image of those points glowing. Diamond Tiara claimed the CMC as her friends. (Three Points) Silver Spoon is also her friend. (One Point) And Diamond Tiara herself represents the central point. This leads me to wonder if the writers may have been thinking along the lines of the next generation gaining the powers of (well not the Elements of course), but perhaps the Rainbow Powers exhibited by the Mane 6. I doubt it's accurate, but it is a fun speculative theory. I'm still wondering if Hasbro or the Creative Staff are insistent on these names though, because if so Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich have a daughter that according to Hasbro should be Diamond Dazzle Tiara Rich. Unless for some weird reason their daughter does not include Rich in her name because, hey, Pony naming conventions are never that consistent. In related news, I finally found Season One on Amazon being offered by Amazon and not a third party seller, so I ordered it and Season Three, I'll be getting Season Two and Four in November I think, or something like that, depends on when they put them on sale, I am not paying 35$ for Season Two, I don't care if it is an exclusive a DVD Box set of a single season shouldn't cost that much unless it's Blu-ray or includes something extra, like a steel case or something.
There's a friendship is magic joke to be made, but I'm too groggy to properly think one up. Spoiler Of their cutie marks, the only one that disappoints me is Apple Bloom's. Sweetie Belle still features a musical note, and Scootaloo's is a lightning bolt inside a wing, which, while not a scooter, is still speed related, so it still fits her. Apple Bloom's is a heart inside an apple. While an apple was inevitable, it doesn't play into either of her strengths of potion making or carpentry, which was kind of disappointing. I also realized this episode somewhat calls back to Appaloosa's Most Wanted, where they showed they had a knack of helping others realize what their mark meant. Spoiler So, considering Pip is still a blank flank and their talent is to help others gain or learn what their mark means, do you think we'll see the Trottingham transplant get his mark soon? Also, episode telling me what Silver Spoon's cutie mark means, please.
Oh, seeing Diamond Tiara's face proverbially shoved in the mud was lovely to see~ I know, right?!? Sucks, don't it?
I always had the headcanon that Spoiler Apple Bloom's cutie mark would be a wood carved apple or something. But her real one now feels lazy. It's just "Oh! She's an Apple! That was easy!" Creativity still seems elusive to the writers of FiM. As for Silver Spoon, I always believed she'd be good at determining what things were worth. Or maybe be an archeologist. So, basically the next Daring Do or something.
Spoiler I actually rather liked Apple Bloom's...2nd(?) Cutie mark from Bloom and Gloom (The apple in the potion bottle). It kept an apple theme while showcasing her individuality and abilities. I really think her cutie mark would be a million times better if they picked anything other than a heart... And really? Then why did she hang out with Diamond Tiara all this time? But really, that's an interesting idea for what it means. Right now, Silver Spoon is the only non-Celestia character I'm longing to know more about, so I'd be down if that turned out to be her talent. Also, if Silver Spoon is the next Daring Do, then Diamond Tiara is the next princess (Her talent is to lead others, after all )
That's how I always saw SS, anyway. The only other explanation for her cutie mark is that she's destined to be a maid... As for Princess Diamond Tiara... I kinda see that, and it'd be cool to see an ascended earth pony.
I'd be down for that kind of skill for Silver. That could certainly be an interesting episode. Diamond Tiara is the reason why the CMC met each other (It was at her cuteceanera). Diamond Tiara is the reason why the Spoiler CMC got their marks. Diamond Tiara is the ultimate CMC.
LOLZ Twilight had the Pakistani symbol originally! Thank God they changed it though, could you imagine the rage of Islamic community by having the symbol used for a magic pony? You know, like what they did with Ocarina of Time?
Yet The CMC are following Rainbow's advice for getting a Cutie Mark for 5 years, Each try ended in failure, but resulted in all of the experience. RD is indirectly responsible for 9 cutie Marks. I like this Crown of Friendship and these designs for the Elements.
N-No Adagio? :c Not really. It took them giving up their quest after realizing how good it felt to help others like Troubleshoes and Diamond Tiara. Dash didn't help. She was the problem for the CMC
