If your having some trouble a lot of Japanese sellers on Amazon seem to be selling a lot of these guys for around $10 shipped.

I feel like it was lack of foresight. He was a wave one release so I guess they didn't think it'd be an issue. When it became apparent it would be they fixed it for the other releases.

Personally, I'm hoping it's somewhere between the $10-25 mark(that's based on other plush they have for various licenses).

 

Oh please keep us updated. I am considering ordering a second one and I am hoping it might be fixed.

Yeah but it's not like they haven't been developing Transforming toys of years...   They should obviously know you have to tab things like that together...

Also he wasn't the only wave one... so how come the others have tabs? But I think I know what you mean. Maybe he was the very first mold and there was no time to update it. Still... like I said they've been doing this for years. They should know better.

Dat Lockdown plush, tho. My nephew grew up with the Optimus and Bumblebee plushes from 2007... I wonder if he would like Lockdown to go with them.

 

Thanks, but as you can see <--- I'm not in America!   I have been keeping an eye on some on the UK site though, just waiting for them to get to the price I've been paying from Hobby Search/HLJ before I bite.

As for the Sideswipe issue, I can confirm that mine has the same issues... which I didn't realise were issues until I read this thread! As you can see from the following pictures, my 'Swipe's roof doesn't fold down at the back as there's a large tab in the way. I've added a comparison picture of Sunstreaker's equivalent part and the tab is much smaller, allowing the roof to fold further down.









It looks to me like the designers realised this was an issue and re-designed that particular part to ensure future figures didn't suffer the same fate.

The easiest solution for those that are bothered by this is to just file down the large tab thus enabling the roof to fold further back. Personally it doesn't bother me that much so I'll leave mine as-is.

And, as you can see, there are no tabs on either side of the back parts, although there are corresponding holes, so who knows what was going on there?!

 

Does anyone know if Sideswipe is getting released again in this line? I want one but if he's coming out again I'd rather wait and see if he's fixed.

So far I only have Optimus, Hot Rod & the trio of Deceptijets. I really love the jets and think they're more fun overall than the cars. Definitely getting a Jerfire.

 

As far as I know there's been no official re-release and it's not shown up again in the new QTF line, but that could always change.

I did get a backordered one from AmiAmi a month or so ago and it still has the tab issue, so looks like there's no "running change" in Japan with existing stock.

 

Thanks, I tried searching the internet for upcoming assortmetns but "Q Transformers" is kind of a vague and mucky term to Google.  

I'll probably just pick up the current Sideswipe while he's still relatively cheap, just in case they don't do another. If they fix him later then I'll get that one, too. Love these little guys - they're like Bot Shots only better!

More pictures of the plushies, they seem to have voice boxes and removable heads.

 

If the plushies weren't as pricey, I'd pick up one of each. :V

 

Well that explains why they are so expensive. Knowing that I wish I could get a lockdown. Really really curious about the audio quality now.

 

Dengeki Hobby put up a video last month demoing the electronics. They don't just have sound, but a voice recognition system. The idea is that the plushies tell you a riddle and if you know the answer, you press their stomachs and say the word. If you're correct you'll get a short ad-libbed response.

It's neat that the plushies can speak. Unfortunately, unless you speak Japanese, you have no idea just what they're saying.
