What was your first hint? That I said "doesn't really make sense?"

    Enlighten me, oh humorous one.

Lol, because you don't really have a reason for posting it besides that it's the opposite of salt.

Clever, but... still doesn't make any sense in the given context.

Whatever you may think, at the very least, you're laughing. These threads can be way too serious sometimes.

Yeah, I read that. On a side note, 17 more days :D

Back on topic, after thinking about it for a bit....I am curious as to what TF5 is going to be about. Sure, they left 4 with Prime flying off to look for the Creators (presumably to open up a can of whoop ass), but it seems like 4 did a huge time jump from 3. Or at least it felt like it.

It seems to me like the TF Movies are being rehashed just like 98% of other BIG Movies, can anyone say "BORING?" with the same plot twists and lame a** human characters hogging the screen,or just complete movie incompetence,no wonder ever since DOTM the TF figure lines have canned shortly after release.

Cause people like Bay refuse to give the Autobots or Decepticons any character development, well all except Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, but I honestly don't see how the TF Movies can go on much longer the way its going cause with movies like Saw or Friday The 13th they just making more movies more movies and last I heard those last ones basically flopped at the box office cause its was the same old crap that was reconstituted into new old crap.

They say 8 Movies well I will be surprised if they last until movie 6.People after awhile get tired of the same stuff over and over again, that's why they have reboots. That is all and sorry for the rant.

I was driving when I got the news yesterday and OMFG THANK GOODNESS FOR CRUISE CONTROL, lol.

    EXCITEMENT.

    XD

Attinger specifically mentions that it's been five years since the invasion of Chicago...so, yeah, the amount of time which has passed between the third and fourth movies is considerably longer than that of any previous sequels.

Kinda interesting to think that TF:AoE technically takes place a couple years in the future, too.

Two major issues with this mentality.

    1. Critical response to the franchise has never been worse than with AOE. The public knows this, and even outside of the fandom, the film franchise has become the butt of jokes more than ever before.

Keeping the brand in the public eye with the movie franchise is not a good thing for the rest of the TF IPs if nobody respects what can be done with them. It takes time, but ongoing poor critical response to the movies will slowly shrink the fandom if the brand identity suffers.

    2. Movies are a MAJOR profit gamble, especially being partially produced by Hasbro Studios. Domestic box office dropped almost 30% between the last two films (and despite the large worldwide take, the actual profit margin returned by the Chinese box office is much smaller than in the US). That means people are listening to the critics and staying away. And that leads to toy and merch sales starting to drop off, which adds to the risk Hasbro takes on with a bad movie. So if they had a legitimate flop, which is the direction they've been headng in... the toys could bomb, merch licenses fall out, etc... we could be seeing a big shrink in the Transformers brand as a whole.

It takes time to feel the effects of all of that, but 20 years of bad movies could do it.

This is the reason there's even a writer's room to begin with. If everything was hunky dory in the Transformers movie world, Hasbro and Paramount would've changed nothing.

If Michael Bay isn't going to be reigned in by a seriously ”in charge” producer than its irrelevant. I've seen the man work, in person, and he ignores everyone around him on set and shoots how and what he wants (literally wouldn't wait for lighting guys to finish a setup, and grabbed the camera out of the A shooter's hands to film the scene himself).

We've seen videos of him doing the same in the edit room. There's no doubt in my mind he'll do the same to whatever script is turned in, unless someone is there to control him.

He needs to go, or he needs some of his power taken away.

The American audience has dropped precipitously, so don't count on that.

They should get John Woo for a director to seal the movie franchise fate.

Or combine both Bay and Woo to get a shaky camera, flying dove, sparkly explosion masterpiece of epic proportions.
