I think it's because his voice is 'naked' here. In G1 it was heavily processed, always had that electronic growl underneath it.

 

They have said a number of times that this is a "Generations" game, encompassing cues from all Transformers in designs and abilities, but I believe the story itself is set within the Sunbow continuity in between Season 2 and The Movie.

As for Nova Prime, who knows what his role is? He's highly unlikely to be the same Nova Prime we know from IDW, but a Sunbow version of the character.

If that is so then I wish they would have added that in. Grimlock doesn't sound right without that deep growling voice. No disrespect to Mr. Berger intended.

 

I would agree. His voice in Fall of Cybertron was spot on, so until I hear actual in game play footage from this one, I'll reserve judgement.

He did sound great in FOC but another factor was that Grimlock was more intelligent sounding, and somewhat Hulk like in terms of power and deepeness.

 

I'm pretty sure the machinima's combiner wars series was only revealed recently so I don't think WFC and Prime were going to be preludes to it.

Here's the full chapter. Granted it's not as fast or as well played as the above videos, but to be fair he is playing it on the regular difficulty.

 

I need to finish my run of Dark Souls 2 before this hits.

Since I'll be playing it on Xbox, will it become sentient like in the first movie when I put the game disc in?

My PC isn't all that powerful or new, but I might go that route. Are computer games still kinda crappy when compared to the console versions? It's been a while since I've played on PCs...or consoles, for that matter. But this game is pretty much exactly what I'd want out of a TF game.

 

I saw it when it came out, but they didn't show anything new... Kind of a let down. It was mostly scenes from from the trailer + one scene from the video GameStop released..
I actually don't expect them to release new footage since we're so close to the release

 

Looks great. Its a mash up of G1, combiner wars (aka G3) and Japanese type drawing style (i.e. Megatron with Teeth).
It is really G1 show style... scale all over the place... Megatron riding in Long Haul...
I like.. looks fun with high replay. Hope that add more skins.

Voice actors are not 30 year old show accurate, but close. People's voice change over time. Prime is pretty much the same.. Now to find a system to play this...
