I have a regular and gray Quakewave and still think it's a great mold. I do, however, like how Quakeblast looks very heroic, and the biggest complaint I have about him is that with all of the panel lining, there's no place to put a faction logo except for right in the middle of his chest. Which isn't bad, by any means, but would have liked a spot on his forearm or shoulder. Totally agree that the legs and feet on the official are way too small! Really makes him look too cartoony, almost like a caricature. Still, it's only a (early?) prototype, so there's still room for improvement.

 

Hell yeah me too. Especially if the quality was there and they didn't mess up the color.

Hey if they decided to release it for $100 I'd be all in for Quakeblast!!

 

The left prototype looks great almost photo shopped or something, really compared to the middle QB. I do like the middle pic don't get me wrong but I was sold on the left picture.... 

 

Don't get me wrong, I love the Quakewave mold. I just wasn't satisfied with colors or the hard to pull out legs. I sold the gray one a while back cuz I had no need for the 2 Shockwave reps and I sold the regular one when word surfaced of a darker rerelease. Was going to get the darker QW but kept looking at Quakeblast thinking it was a better mold. Saw the news today of MP SW (keep thinking SkyWarp lol) and was like wait a minute guess i'll get him then saw the legs and was like maybe not.

Yeah Quakeblast is on point. I wanna see how the TK SW looks from the back and in alt mode and if it's a partsformer. That'll probably decide which one I get, oh and price which right now Takara is the highest in US prices.

 

Gotta say Cloud 9's got the worst luck with this.They got flak from FansToys, they won't have their item carried by several retailers due to the Quakewave reissue, and now an official Shockwave is getting made and those same retailers who won't carry Quakeblast will have MP Laserwave. I'm usually against 3p figures that would compete with something official but in this case I really want Quakeblast to be a hit. Hope Cloud 9 doesn't give up. Really wanna see how their work turns out.

The price is a placeholder on BBTS. The price in Japan will be way lower and shipping included, MP Shockwave/Laserwave will more than likely be $120 to $135. BBTS and places will probably have it for $150 or so but that's entirely on the US and UK retailers. Takara's prices aren't nearly as high as what the US retailers sell these things for.

Hope someone photographs all three together when they come out. I'm honestly liking Takara's MP Laserwave the best (especially with the new photos) but Quakeblast still looks really good. If Quakeblast comes out I'll probably get him as I have no issue having two (or more) Shockwaves.

 

i have QW and i'd rather have QB, but its not serious enough to make me sell anything and replace. ive made my peace with my shockwave, heh.
im convinced that many third party designers are now equal to or better than takara MP production, their MPs hardly interest me.
Carry looks better than hot rod, imo.
QB looks better than shockwave.
im willing to bet that XTB/DX9 galvatrons look better than whatever takara has up its sleeve.

I think hot rod from EB anime export will be more affordable for me at this point, but damn carry looks so good and fun

 

Man after looking at all three lined up, TT is coming in last, and now I really want a QB. Looks like reversable hose on the arm too. All the light up action... arms have the detail on the side where as TT has the G1 toy fail written all over it. I think I read QB even has sound FX!

 

If I end up with a QB I'm probably going to put the faction symbols on the sides of his arms, it's not quite the right spot, but I can live with it.

I vaguely remember zfarsh saying a couple years back that all he needed was some MP dinobots and one other thing (Omega?) and it would finish up his collection forever.

Pretty much agree with you on all accounts. Even though I really don't need another Shockwave, this guy looks good and I am sorely tempted to see if I can somehow justify the purchase.
As for the official...I'm sure the current PO price isn't going to last, and that the price will be more along the line of Quakewave, meaning a Japanese PO will be around the same as the imported Quakeblast price. Knowing me, I'll probably pull the trigger on the official too, but will probably just keep it sealed, since it just doesn't look that good so far.

 

quakewave and quakeblast both look alot better than the official. i like the lower legs on the official one (not the feet though)

 

Very very good memory.... That is indeed the case, ft dinos. And I am getting the master made omega supreme which will be in my price range. Hence, even though I really want carry, just don't think I can pull it. That and something unexpected happened, the damn bugs... but yes, in general, even though I sold many toys, I bought a whole lot more than I should have.... I am now thinking dinos and bugs and omega supreme and mmc Seraph and commotus... and maybe mp arcee if rumour is true... and probably more mmc stuff and unexpected stuff, oh hell, you are right, there is no escape...

I kinda like mp shockwave but I am thinking of waiting for a voyager or legends cybertonian/ updated shockwave...

 

Yeah thats my gripe with some 3P figures, they dont leave a spot for the logos to go.

Since I no longer have a Quakewave, I really would prefer the Quakeblast but if it doesnt come through may just go back to Quakewave unless Takara beef up those legs and feet a lil bit.

Takara most likely won't do that as it's more show accurate to keep the legs as they are. Quakeblast has the middle ground between Quakewave's super beefy and innacurate legs and MP Laserwave's relatively skinny but accurate legs.

I agree, QuakeBlast looks the best. Given there are no mishaps with QA/QC like Shuraking, I'll most likely get a QuakeBlast.

Also, agreed and agreed. I am not going to post in the news and rumors shockwave reveal thread anymore. What I read yesterday make me ****ing sick to my stomach, to be honest.

What someone said in that thread really rang true too, like, we have people here who may prefer 3P to official, but we never knock those guys like they do to us. The mindless zealotry is beyond insane as well. I can't even.
