It's cool to see Soundwave use his shoulder cannon. I don't remember him using it much (if ever) in the cartoon.

Also, for those complaining about the voice acting, I think he sounds great. The vocoder effect sounds almost identical to the Sunbow one. I think it's the guitar music in the background that is really overpowering and distracting, which is why he doesn't sound very intimidating. Just focus on Soundwave's voice and you'll see what I mean.

What the hell is wrong with Soundwave's voice? I can barely hear what he's saying! With him and Starscream having two of the most iconic voices in the show, I'm frustrated that this game screws them both up. :mad

I wish they would use Welker's "Dr Claw" growl for the base of Soundwave's flanged voice. Without it, the result is an indiscernable mess. I havn't hard a good rpduction of his voice since G1...

I just wish you could play as Soundwave. When I was a kid I always wanted to be Soundwave. So much in fact that I recall going to bed at night saying in my prayers (about 3 to 4 yrs old) that I wanted to: 1 - Meet an real life alien like E.T., 2 - Become a robot like Soundwave, and if that wasn't possible at least have a voice like him. I was a funny kid!

The vocoder likely wasn't set right, making him sound like he's whispering.
So that with loud music, it's not really surprising why it's hard to hear him.

    Marvel productions.
Sunbow just approved episodes and told Marvel staff what to feature in stories. Everything else: storyboard, scripts, designs, music, voices, sound effects... all Marvel productions.

(Honestly, it's about time Marvel productions starts to get proper credit. The way many talk, it makes it look like they haven't done a single thing and yet, as pointed out, they did most of the work)

They did. The vocoder smoothens the growling:

Like Starscream, his voice sounds... a bit off. At least you could hear Starscream I suppose.

Starscream will always sound different from G1 no matter what you do, because Chris Latta is dead.

Nah Frank can still do Soundwave. He did so in the Movies and in Prime.

It's because of this, he sounds so quite. It cancels out his voice entirely.

I would assume it is, I mean it'd be a waste to get Frank to come back and not have him do both Megatron and Soundwave?

I wouldn't be too worried about Soundwave's voice being quiet and mumbly. That's a problem with the sound mixing, not with the voice acting. It's plain as day that the music in that teaser was very loud. I think it sounds exactly like the vocoder is at the G1 settings.

Do we have a cast list of who's voicing whom? I know Megatron, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Sideswipe, and Optimus Prime have the G1 actors. I'm rather curious who plays characters whose voice actors have passed away, though, like Wheeljack and Starscream.

I think people are overreacting. This isn't even the full game, it's just a few seconds of trailer footage. Can we at least wait until the game is released before we whine about this? :D

    Okay, my bad.

Wheeljack has been confirmed to be voiced by a guy named (not kidding here) Christopher Swindle.

Starscream hasn't been confirmed yet but it almost sounds like it's Scott Whyte (Fizzie, WFC Jazz, Hardshell in Rise of the Dark Spark).

    You'll get over it.

Any confirmation on which characters will be playable? I hope its not solely Autobots.
