I really hope it's a trick of the light (possible) or that Hot Rod's chest is mistransformed. Where the chest meets the waist looks to be a real mess.

I'll probably get him. I love Hot Rod. Still I'm disapointed that the first time I see him I'm finding problems. (hopefully imaginary ones)


Shock wave isn't bad as all. If I got a Shockwave at all he'd do.

That being said I'm looking at Shockwave and that new Quakeblast side by side right now and based off these two pictures I might prefer Quakeblast. We'll wait and see what happens. Not positive I'm getting either one, but if I do it could easily be either.

 

I'm willing to bet this Shockwave was designed, or heavily influenced by Hasui. Who I prefer on this line. And Shockwave I can say it's safe to say has been on the table for a while. Like Megs V2.

I'm glad I held off on preordering a Quakewave. I'm sure he's a great figure, but I like the legs on the Takara version much more. He's so bought. As for Hot Rod, he will most likely look better in color, but we'll see. Still pretty stoked for these two.

Shockwave reveal was really "Shocking" (XD). But I'm the only one really excited for HotRod 2.0????

He seems to be smaller than MP09, and with less curves.

 

Improvements? The very things you are unhappy with are toon accurate. This is one MP that I would say is completely toon inspired in bot mode. I've been looking at some stills from the sunbow animation and they have him exactly like the toon. If that s not your thing, then I recommend the 3p route.

I have Quakewave and love it. Im sure I will like this guy too for the reasons above.

Hot Rod is a little concerning because he seems small. Maybe I'm used to MP09 but isnt he and the season 3/ movie bots bigger than the season 1 cast, except for prime?

I love his head sculpt but need to see paint on his chest. I would have preferred Astrotrain or an MP Devastator before these two. Still its great to see they are trying to produce more official designs in less time.

 

Am I the only one thinking, "the Legends Shockwave toy will be the perfect size to allow you to recreate the scene from the show where he's holding his own toy"?

 

I'm assuming he will come with a tiny version of himself.

I see that on Hotrod which has me concerned. We will just have to wait and see. But I know Hotrod fan's will be very happy when they show his alt mode. Shockwave I can't wait to have. To bad it may not be until October of 2016 or so before we get him. Hotrod should be a August release. Hopefully sooner, but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

 

You know.. I wonder if Takara will do a 'Shackwave' coloration. They have no ties whatsoever to that version other then the company they licensed the mold from also licensed it to a completely separate company molded in that color...

It's not like the Diaclone versions of the other figures which they themselves produced, I would be really really surprised if they did it in those colors personally.... It would be almost like them recoloring the various 'Jetfire' homages in their other lines as random Macross fighters or redecoing Roadbuster and Whirl as the Dvorak line counterparts.

 

I hear you. The clear version of Fans Toys Quakewave is pretty much pre-sold out though.

 

We sure did  . It's been a long journey but we're finally here. Kudos to all that waited for this moment.

Hot Rod really needs some skirt flaps though... Even Shockwave has them, come Takara.

 

Hot Rod looks like he's got a bib on. Something's just off with Ironhide and Hot Rod.

Shockwave looks cool. Coo' hwip.

 

Okay first Ironhide now these two. This cannot be the same designer who brought us MP-10, Lambor and the Datsuns. The legs on Shockwave and Hot Rod looks very weird. Am I going to have to go to third party for my MPs just like I do with the mainline figures. Come on get it together Takara/Hasbro
