We can all dream of an updated Max Ray and his marry band... as 6 inch figures with articulation and 5mm ports on the weapons...

    cough...

I always throw in for one action figure from every action figure kickstarter, so when I pledged for a basic ninja I clicked on that option, and it came up $35, and it automatically prompted me "+$10 shipping" as I was pledging. So anyone who pledges knows it's $45.

As to comparisons, yeah, your mileage may vary. They are very different figures. I still want to own a ninja and a Muscules, so Muscules can put one in a headlock!

I'm well aware of this. Unfortunately, I don't have any faith in it. Read my previous post on the topic, as well as what others are saying.

You seriously need to stop talking for PWTT. Yes, you're the super fan. We get that. But we've been over this in Nonnef's thread.

I'm not the only one that has said it either.

That's pretty messed up they're hiding that cost. As best as I can tell there's no mention of it on the main page. You only find out there's a shipping cost after you have gone to the pledge confirmation page. At least they prompt you to pay the shipping but that's still not right imo.

It is OK to hate the toys but no need to hate other people that love the toys.

I don't hate him for the love of the toys. I don't like it when he speaks for other companies.

I thought I made that pretty clear in the part about Nonnef's thread.

Let other companies speak for themselves. Being the "super fan" doesn't give him the right to state things that could cause confusion or create issues.

I'm with you, but multiple people have tried to tell him that, and it's obvious he doesn't care.

Since PWTT let him borrow the last prototype, it seems they don't care either. If they appreciate some random guy spouting whatever about their stuff, there's no need for us to care.

I personally love them for being Pretender shells. The shells are the only parts of Pretenders I enjoy, I have a half dozen, all without the interior robots. I even sold the inside parts to Bludgeon just to keep the shell. I preferred the first two figures from the original Kickstarter, but these two also look pretty cool. I wish they weren't so part swappable, but I don't HAVE to take them apart either, and it does allow them the ability to make more unique figures down the road. I really hope this is successful, but as someone pointed out, the numbers alone don't add up to a successful campaign. Hopefully more people get excited as this approaches completion.

    My opinion......

I would LOVE a line homaging the original Pretenders, with a interactive pairing of action figure and robot. That is my dream. But, the first run around with PWTT wasnt it. The drones basically came apart instead of transforming, and formed weapons, and the idea wasnt new and was essentially packing in BMOGs with each figure. At least thats how it felt, and it was disingenuous to call that concept a Pretender homage. Focusing on the shells is more interesting to me. I am not an action figure collector beyond some Drossel and Gatchaman, but these are interesting to me.

PWTT really need to get better at promotion and marketting though. Vangelus did a great video of the Desolator prototype AFTER the previous KS had finished and showed off some great features that were never even mentioned as far as I saw - ab crunches, weapon storage, etc.

I didnt back the previous campaign as a result of the monster figures not really doing it for me, and the drones actually putting me off the concept. This campaign is much cleaner, although I am really waiting for their Cloud Burst (who was the FIRST concept that PWTT released, I think.... so where is he) and the other core Pretender humans, NOT the Starscream and Grimlock guys. That said, this is a step in the right direction for me. This line will never really be the Pretender homage that I am looking for, but if the price is right and the figures seem of reasonable quality - and initial indications seem to support this - I could go in for maybe two, or one at this time.

I kinda agree with Syn... I don't hate the figures. I think they're pretty cool looking. Like all 3P products though, they should stand on their own without needing someone serving as an unofficial cheerleader for the company.

Scaleface, I realize you're passionate about this project, but you constantly defending and justifying every decision PWTToo makes is leaving a bad taste in many people's mouths. You may be doing more harm than good. I know I pulled out my $320 pledge on the last one because of all of the cheerleading. Let PWTToo do their job and answer the questions. You don't need to justify the difference between various action figure Kickstarters. It's awesome to love them, but don't be so aggressive in your love that it turns other people off. I hope it does fund.

Maybe if they fund, something I'm interested in will open up. I kinda liked the creatures...

Those are both from the same place. The second one is the Trending estimate while the other is the Projection. In my experience having watched quite a few Kickstarters the Trending can be wildly inaccurate while the Projections tend to be pretty on the money. Of course they're not 100% correct but usually the ending amount does fall somewhere in the projected range after the Kickstarter has been up for a week or so.

Yeah, today it's 115%. Yesterday it was 129-131%. Two days ago it was 151%. So if you're gonna argue that projection is predicting $14K overage, you oughta acknowledge that number is dropping on the daily.

A bear market is still a bear market even if it started off overvalued.

I love the desperate attempts to pull interest for this project. Those backstories were just terrible.

PWTT should have focused their attention on MotU or TMNT characters and maybe considered Pretenders afterwards. That or they should have focused a little more on the Transformer aspect of these characters because they're really grasping at straws focusing on the pretender shells.

Even though this is going to fail yet again, I'd still like to hear what the second PWTT idea is.

Hopefully it will involve robots that transform, crazy as that would be.

In the last interview he did he mentioned it was much "smaller"... I wonder if that was a reference to Arms Microns or some other small toys...? Your guess?

I think this whole thing has just go so far south, it needs to go away. Why would you come back for round two and ask for more money then round one? If you couldn't get this thing going before at 80k, what makes you think it will go at 90k. I was originally pulling for this. I really wanted that Swoop figure. However, the whining message posted just now is the straw that broke the camel's back. I won't be funding this now.

What I don't understand is that during the time between the first and second Kickstarter, what was really done? It doesn't seem like much changed in the sevenish months.

Certainly not 7 months worth of work was done. Can someone enlighten me possibly? Maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture.
