Those of you who got the Armored 1J from HI METAL R, what are your thoughts? I hope a company makes great quality, highly affordable, perfect transformation VF-1 toys. I don't care if joints are exposed. The 1/55 swing bars don't bother me. I want straight up toys. I don't mind the Arcadias nor the Bandais however I think the niche I describe has yet to be filled. Like damn I would be excited if Bandai made a 1/72 line heavily based on their 1/55's with minor alterations. I would be giddy.
I'd be all about this too. It's pretty astonishing that the best "toy" valkyrie is still the old Takatoku/Bandai from 1982! I suppose 30 years out, VF-1 figures are squarely in collector territory; a figure that sacrifices sculpt/anime accuracy for durability and play-ability probably isn't a priority. Hi Metal seems neat, but I don't think it's what you're looking for...
It almost looks like a VF-0D, VF-19 and VF-25 all mixed together. Which makes sense I guess since they all poured forth from the same Holy Floating Head. Now I'll just sit back and hope the battroid mode isn't wearing basketball shoes.
I can only hope the wings lay flat like the 0D. I don't think I can handle any more perpendicular backpack wings.
Hey man. Hey. No. This is Macross, not some sort of...weird, crazy, reality-bending trash that would have the audacity to feature a single engine aircraft. I mean, I know it's sci-fi and all, but you gotta have limits to what is believable and what is just...pure unfiltered insanity. (I think you're right!)
