I've successfully managed to customize my Shredder to have proper arm and leg articulation in one figure as well as interchangeable blades.
So apparently Playmates is re-releasing the 1988 versions of Rocksteady and Bebop at TRU as part of the Retro Classics line. What's hilarious is the paint apps are WORSE than the 1988 toys! For example, Bebop is just all black from the waist down. Rocksteady's arms are all gray, the wristbands aren't painted black. What a shit company.
Scratch - TMNTPedia That figure haunts me to this day. I saw one in person in the package as a kid at a flea market. My dad didn't want to pay the $8 for it and said "look around and perhaps we'll find it cheaper." Never saw one again and when I got a computer years later, just imagined the gut wrenching feeling I had when I saw the price.
Ugh, really? Isn't the line supposed to be straight-up re-releases of the old toys? How are they screwing it up that bad? I was actually interested in the line but not so much now. But I still kinda want to get them so I can get the accessories for my Bebop and Rocksteady.
Here, this was a post I made on another forum so you guys can see the differences: Pictures here: Retro | Playmates Toys, Inc. This is what I used for comparison: https://actionfig.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/rscn4328.jpg In the picture, Bebop's shoes are painted but someone on the Technodrome forums said it's just solid black plastic from the waist down -- it wouldn't be the first time Playmates showed a picture and dropped paint once it hit retail. You can tell in the picture that Bebop's belt is also unpainted, whereas the original version was painted gray. In addition, the skull looks to have less detail, the shoulderpads are a different green and the wristbands are, like Rocksteady, unpainted. Also, you can tell in the original figure it went, in terms of paint, pants --> ankles --> shoes. On the re-release, the ankles are painted solid black so it just looks like pants ---> shoes. The only issue with Rocksteady seems to be the wristbands are unpainted, comparing the picture here to the 80s one.
Hmm...I was only going to get ONE Mondo turtle, that being Leo since he's my favorite, but the others will be coming with far more tantalizing accessories...
I like him but I find him a tad too big and the artistic license they took is cool (works better on Krang since its an android body) to update him but I want a straight up TOON Shredder that being said im still getting him
