If Iron Factory's figure were somehow to be upscaled in size, Carnifex would receive serious competition.

This is a very cool looking figure, and i do need a reason not to get it as so many awesome toys are coming out, so there is no way to buy them all.

The lack of the primary gimmick that defined overlord, ie the godmasters is it. So i am happy to sit this figure out and hope that a future figure will include the gimmick and maybe have more of a masterpiece aesthetic, be it mmcs ocular max line, or maketoys or fans toys.

man i have an itchy purchase finger for this. when Carny goes up for preorder, there will be no thoughts, no scruples, only actions.
like what happened when Nero Rex went up for preorder yesterday... i blacked out and woke up to confirmation emails from PSX, and my bank account was $500 short.

People need to stop declaring opinions as facts. Stop writing as if "I think" or "In my opinion" are implied. If its an opinion, state so. We're not communicating via text message. This isn't Twitter. You have a little room to breathe.

Are his Godmasters really needed? What would they truly offer to the figure?

I get that you would like a pure G1 representation, but the point of the G1 Godmasters was to activate gimmicks, which, I don't believe would work well on this representation.

It's like 4 people, not several on one side and several on another. And it is off topic since, as you said MMC's Overlord is neither G1 or IDW, so any discussion about Masterforce scaling does not pertain to the figure, and thus off-topic.

    Lawyered.

Also for any reading this, the reveal with MP Ultra Magnus and Star Sabre was just to show his size, not his scale. Those are two giant toys and they were jut showing how big he was by using them. There was no implication this could be used for MP scale, just to show his size. They could have used Hasbro's Metroplex and Devastator if they wanted to, but he wouldn't have looked as impressively big.

It's time to move on. 5 to 6 pages of this is more than enough. You want the last word? Take it. I'll give you that respect, you definitely won't get a response from me anymore, but we need to get this thread back on track which is discussion that is directly about the toy.

I think he looks fantastic and will go well with the rest of my Reformatted collection I have near my desk.

Can wait for the other Reformatted toys MMC teased to be released. Because they have comparison pictures with MP Ultra Magnus I can extrapolate from that how big he is compared to Feral Rex because I have both Magnus and Rex.

Azalea will have hell of a time fighting against him and Feral Rex simultaneously while Cynicus is sniping out the eye of Carnifex (that's what the alternate head is for right?)

In the aftermath of the battle Jaegertron will collect all the heads while Commotus and Anarchus go shopping together for the prom.....

....so what was this argument about?

Thanks for clearing that up. Why didn't you tell us you worked for Mastermind Creations? But what a weird coincidence that those two "giant toys" also just happened to be in scale with how large a Masterpiece Overlord would be. No, no implication at all.

I don't get the question. What does any feature offer any figure?

Carnifex is part of the reformatted line. i believe all the reformatted toys are in one relative scale, which is not quite MP (see feralcons or hexatron).
    hope this helps ;)

edit - heres an almost complete list of the reformatted line, you can see the general scale they follow is their own. REFORMATTED - Planet Steel Express

You're welcome. Sometimes people need things pointed out to them, and I was glad to do it for you. It's okay, no one could think any less of you right now so don't worry about how we perceive you, we see you exactly as how you've always presented yourself.

And a for a coincidence, I know right? It is so weird. And yet that's what it is. No matter how much some of us would like it not to be the case, but what are you gonna do? It's an "Aww, shucks!" situation.

P.S. I hope they use the IDW bio if they ever bring MP Star Saber to American shores.

When do they combine alt mode in the toon, the g1 toy certainly doesn't. Are you talking about base mode?

If you are a fan of masterforce, then the godmasters are critical. Giga and Mega are overlord, the combining jet and tank are just a transector, vehicles. I am not a comic fan, so idw overlord doesn't mean much to me.

Give it a try. Especially if anything, the "More Than Meets The Eye" side comics. They are utterly fantastic. I mean, the art alone ... Holy jeebus.

I only recently (almost a year now) have gotten/re-gotten into American comics again. When I was a yougin' I liked 'em, and then I got older and the weeaboo side took over and I was "animu or DIE!!" After that, I wasn't into really anything, until recently as I mentioned above.

Alex Milne and Nick Roche's artwork is almost anime-ish style (clean, colorful/"bright" and detailed) mixed with "American comic art" style. It makes for a beautiful beautiful book(s).

*Shrugs* I've read MtMtE, and LSotW and several IDW comics and I simply have not been interested in IDW's take. That's simply personal preference (that said I like some of the IDEAS coming out of IDW, like the DJD, and that we're getting some very cool toys out of it). To those who do like it? cool, I hope you continue to enjoy it. ^^

Some fans don't like IDW, some do. Some like Masterforce, some don't. We're all coming from different parts of the fandom and in many cases different age groups. Of course we're going to like different things^^ I seriously just want one alt face in a toy that I REALLY am looking forward to and have been for a long time^^. The godmasters I likely can kitbash myself so that's fine for me. This toy really seems to hit a LOT of good notes for fans on both sides, which means he should sell well to IDW and G1/Masterforce fans, so that should be a win for MMC^^

Honestly, going back on topic... This guy looks amazing. the robot mode is massive, imposing and has a wonderful flair and the lines of the mold flow together wonderfully. I'm looking forward to having him and finding out what dramatic poses I can get him into (and how many end up with him going kerplunk due to me balancing him poorly!!^^ ...I need to get some tamashii stages)

I love the tank mode, and actually I really like the plane mode as well... though I can see what people mean about the wings (granted I'm okay with it being a atmo-capable space craft/shuttle so there ya go... I'm weird^^)

I'm looking forward to the colored test shots... and maybe some more posability shots (also reviews of test shots/production models!^^)

I don't mind Masterforce. Yes they were critical to the show, but this isn't just a 'show' representation. If it was stated as G1 Carnifex, then possibly I'd be upset.
