Wow! Great shots. You gave the uncanny ability to make them look like they're not made of plastic. Do you use some kind of filter?

Awesome pics! I think alt modes are under-appreciated in general, since the bot modes are the common perception of the characters*, so it's nice to see some quality pics. And, this type of image set is driving me (get it?) more and more to ditch the tiny detolfs I have and get something bigger so I can have a massive "Autobots, roll out!" display from time to time.

    • 1) For example (opinion incoming): For me, Hound was a robot that just happened to turn into military Jeep, but not all military Jeeps that I saw were equated to transforming robots. VW Beetles could be viewed as Herbie as much as the G1 Bumblebee character for those of us born in the 70s-80s. Hopefully this makes sense.
    • 2) A counter-example would be the Dinobots, which certainly had as much characterization in dino mode as they did in bot mode.

    Thanks! :)

Actually yes, I do. It's a HOYA Skylight 1B filter, although it's typically better used for outdoor photos etc. I actually do quite a bit of photography outside of Transformers (I even posted a couple of my non-TF pics in this thread the other day) and find it's generally a really good tool. Seems to work well on TFs too, although I maintain that plenty of natural light is the best tool. I don't have a complicated set up at all, just big windows.

Oh, and Sinestro00, thanks as well! I completely agree that a lot of the alt' modes are under-appreciated. I get that some folk aren't too fussed about transforming their figures all the time, and fair enough, but I love doing it and I like how different it makes your displays etc.

Has anyone who has picked up the TRU MP Starscream noticed stress marks on the joints on his fingers? I'm concerned of breakage if this isn't a common issue because mine has stress marks all over both hands.

Otherwise I love the guy, really tight joints, holds together well, doesn't seem to have any of the issues I have read about.

    Thanks. :)

    Lovely stuff!

Not sure if any of you guys are on Facebook, but if so have a look at this. On the suggestion of Daim Choc I set up a bit of a page to keep track of and share some of my photos. Grateful for any support. :)

That's the spirit, man! Knew you had it in you! Gorgeous - can't wait for more ;)

TC, what can I say, mang? I'm on vacation with my family now and looking at your pics is making me want to run home to my collection to swipe all your poses and just admire how awesome they are. You are a real, pro level poser! ;)

Sixo, these alt shots are stunning and make me want to put all my MPs in alt mode again, but these shots need more carpet! I want to drink all your whisky and pass out on that gorgeous carpet of yours!

That's my favourite post from today. :thumb

Rest assured, I will make sure that the next batch of shots include 100% more carpet. Oh, and you're welcome to come and drink my whisky any time. :D

Tell me about it! Although there's no bigger distraction than Transformers when working from home, I find...

Thanks Sixo... given the high quality of your pics, I'm flattered.

I agree... when I saw MP Lambor for the first time, that's when I decided to finally get into MP collecting (and haven't regretted it!). Seriously considering creating a Lambor army by getting all his repaints including the KO gold one!

You're using a Takara MP-10 right? Sorry if I keep asking folks but I'm still deciding whether to get the Takara or TRU MP-10 (leaning towards Takara at this point as its "souless eyes" are not an issue for me).

And yes, Ultra Magnus certainly looks magnificent with a full rack of cars!

WOW TCracker... that "Insecticons + Reflector" group selfie is just beautiful! Thanks!

I find it hilarious that Reflector would have a selfie stick :D  And those facial expressions and the hand gestures! :bay

Thanks, BB! Yep, that's a Takara MP-10. I do own the Hasbro version as well, so happy to do a few more comparison pics at some point if that would help. I would say the Takara version takes it for me, as I prefer the darker blue and slightly more premium finish, but I'm also a sucker for the Takara boxes - they add a lot to the experience for me in a way that I find the Hasbro boxes quite disposable. :)
