not sure if anyone has done it but im in the process of repainting the knock off hercules from china with the rage add on kit. so far, i just finished the legs. i used tamiya acrylic paint. will add some shading later once it's complete. let me know what you think!
the KO is not that bad at all. few different companies in china makes them. as for the joints, it needs a little tweaking tho to make him pose a bit better.
update: just finished these two guys. on my way to the main body. what do you guys think? i'll be adding some shading once everything is painted.
tks guys, i can't wait til this is all put together. 2 more members to go ! after this, i will be doing another repaint since i have extra knock off hercules and rage of hercules. this time, i will repaint into a nice yellow.
he is finally finished! i made a balljoint for his head, cut some parts to attached to his knees (not identical to shapeways but will do) and extended his chest shield, used primus hands and made a peg for attachmnt, and another peg to attached his main gun. i enjoyed doing this project so now im going to make another one as the yellow giant version color. thanks guys!
You paint by hand brushing or air brushing the tamiya acrylic paint ? How do you avoid the paint scratching and coming off ?
i use air brush and hand paint for small details. you need to prep and sand the figure and apply primer before applying the paint. for not getting scratched, you just need to be careful when handling it. avoid rough handling.
