i just read the second issue yesterday and I'm enjoying how it actually has connections to transformers prime unlike the cartoon which is weird since the cartoon is a sequel to transformers prime but they never really bring up anything from prime

I think there's a thread for that in the RID2015 boards

I would like to get into the comics, but the cast of Prime is returning for season 2 of RID aren't they? I would think when that happens the TV writers wouldn't follow up on the comics but instead make their own explanation for the return of Team Prime, we had comics based on Transformers Prime before but aside from the final ones that take place after Predacons Rising I'm not sure any of them fit into the cartoon timeline.

I'm pretty much reading it to get a sequel to Prime, so the comic has grabbed me even though I have no current desire to watch the TV show.

Basically the A-plots for issues 0, 1, and 2 are "catch the Decepticon" adventures like I gather the show is, but the B-plots are all about how Team Prime has to somehow discreetly perform some mission on Earth behind BB's back.

It's pretty basic, very little to talk about.

It's not bad but there isn't much substance to it.

The cartoon is a sequel, but expected to also work as a stand alone.

The comic, it's expected that fans who buy comics are more likely to be followers of both.

its just hard to see RID as a sequel when it never really brings up any prime plot points

I've seen scans of a few pages of the RID comic, but I'm hanging back on buying it for now. If it continues to delve into what happened to the rest of Team Prime after TFP ended then I might start picking it up.

There isn't really much to say. They're cute stories with cute art and that's about it.

    It has Prime characters, so?
The Prime comics directly tied to WFC and FOC, but were contradicted by the show, and are even harder contradicted by RID. The comics have shit all to do with either. Don't buy them expecting to "complete" your Aligned Universe fiction.

RID Doesn't even mention TF Prime Events whatsoever even though it's a sequel series but if nobody told you then you wouldn't know that

the comic itself has done a far better job of saying yes this takes place in the same universe as prime and those characters still exist

the show tries to pretend Arcee Bulkhead Ratchet Wheeljack Smokescreen And Ultra Magnus Didn't Exist
