Citing figures that shipped in a single case two years ago to figures from a major movie launch line is a pretty bad example.

    :stick:

The point is they were not produced to coincide with the launch of a new movie, so there were less made overall.

While we're on the subject of other lines, if any of you are browsing TRU and come across one of these, I'd be eternally grateful if you could give me a heads up.

Super Mario 6 inch Figure - Metroid - Jakks Pacific - Toys "R" Us

I live in Clear Lake and routinely check Baybrook and Pasadena. Barely missed one last month at the Baybrook store.

But they are modern star wars toys now aren't they which he said aren't collectible but in fact they are because well they're highly sought after by...collectors

Most figures won't become "collectible" until after time has gone on the fact that he said that they aren't is just wrong a few months from now kylo Ren will be hard to find and his price will go up to say they aren't going to be collectible is wrong look at the shadow speeder set released less than a year ago

I was merely pointing out that his example was poor. It's a bad example as there are outliers like that for every kind of collectible. To clarify, I disagree with polymorphic's general statement that SW toys are not collectibles since they are not rare. That's not how that works, obviously.

The shadow speeder example is poor, for the same reason. A store exclusive is generally produced in smaller quantities than a general release item. (I can also say from personal experience that a lot of Target's didn't get more than two cases of them.) As well as the fact that anything that doesn't have an upcoming media push in a relatively short time frame is not going to be ordered by the retailer as much if there were. So yes, there will be products under such conditions that become scarce and drive up the after market price.

Also, Kylo Ren will probably not be hard to find. He's a wave one figure in a Star Wars movie line. They are going to make lots of them. Go back and look at the first waves of the last three movies and you'll find virtually all the stuff in the main assortments are still quite easy and affordable to acquire. It's true that in recent years retailers have scaled back on what they have ordered, but I don't think they will be as conservative for this line given the ridiculous amount of hype the film has.

Even still hardly any of the SW black series figures peg warmed outside of greedo slave leia and Han. Boba Fett, Bossk, Sidious, Leia in Boussh disguise were rarely seen on shelves. The Taun Taun set or the Wampa set hardly saw shelves but I believe we're arguing two separate points what I'm saying is these figures aren't all huge runs as he had stated they would be

The stores around here are stuck with DK's from forever ago and likely won't send more until those are gone. So never.

My TRU (Baybrook) has Combiner Wars deluxes at $19.99 right now. Is this an anomaly or is TRU on crack?

That's ridiculous. Walmart on Post Oak has Voyagers for the same price.

Baybrook is the same way, but they randomly got a case of the new wave in last month. They had two 6" Ganondorfs left, but once those were gone there's been nothing but the same DKs that have been there for months.

Yeah. I'd be shocked if anyone buys them there. Especially when HTS has them for less with no shipping.
