This is a rather overly simplistic poll. I'm thinking if I get good at customization and if Victorion ever goes on sale, I'll get her. However, in a plain yes or no question, where I assume we're talking about the full priced figure as is, no. I won't buy her.
You mean, am I buying the same molds I already have for possibly a third time just for the articulated feet that should have been on the combiners to begin with. Yeah.... not doing it.
Nope. The colors suck, I'm burnt out on the molds, and I don't have the desire to own a bunch of male and androgynous molds with lipstick slapped on as a half-assed attempt to be progressive. Nice job on the voting, guys.
Nope. I'm fairly sure my eyes will pop out of my head and quit if they ever gaze upon that optical aberration.
Probably. I believe the color scheme will look better in person; Hand-painted models always look worse than the final product, just on principal of the blotchy, off-color (usually much brighter) paint job. People naturally form opinions based on the state of something when they are presented with it, subconsciously or not. A person is less likely to buy an iPhone if the one on display is cracked, even though it's not supposed to be. Same principal should logically apply to these crappy hand-painted models.
Their only unique qualities are their color (terrible), their gender (uninteresting in itself), and their accessories. Alas, true hands and feet and a combinable weapon aren't enough to sell me a large set of repaints. That sword is cool, though. They really should have done something similar for all the combiners. Not sure that's true. The hand paints are certainly no more blotchy than the factory applied ones, and are usually more detailed with more paint apps. I'd say I'm more often disappointed with a product's paint after seeing the model than the reverse. Teal and Red just don't work together, and I have a hard time seeing the actual release making it somehow look good.
The only thing remotely interesting on it are the changed arms on the helicopter mold, which could and should have debuted on Blades (maybe if we get a G2 Defensor he will get those arms or Takara/Tomy will use those arms on their Blades). +-MWG-+
But why would a transforming race of vehicle's for women have boobs? I mean, technically a transforming car should look similar between being a Male or Female. But I get your point about mold wear out.
I have one basic rule for the CW line: if it isn't a remade G1 combiner team, I'm not buying it. No Masquerade, no Victorion, no Sky Reign (although I may still get Sky Lynx as a standalone figure). Nothing against any of these toys, but they aren't what I want.
Though I really find myself wishing they were allocated a larger budget to allow for some cybertronian remolding or futuristic tweaking if you prefer....it'll all boil down to budget for me...I do want them...but...my collection wil l be okay without them...then again I do need and want more femmes...
Well I didn't. "We" also voted for two helicopters and that garish deco. I said nothing about boobs. Flat-chest fembots are fine. I'm talking about the broad-chest and tiny hips that all the used molds have. There was no way these figures were ever going to look right as femmes.
But to say it's a half-assed attempt at "being progressive" is not only ridiculous, it's out-and-out wrong.
How? The molds are absolutely terrible-looking fembots. Most people voting thought, "Oh! We need a female combiner just because!" and didn't even give thought to how bad it was going to look with the mold options.
Firstly, they're not all that bad as females. We've had characters like Strika before. Secondly, God forbid people actually want more female characters or for this combiner to bring something entirely new to the table.
Yeah, sure. Whose toy is terrible, and the writers had to make her a burly russian woman for the design to be acceptable. That's a pretty nice strawman. I'm fine with new fembots and a fembot combiner, but Victorion is not the way to do it.
The gravity powers thing being different depending on if the helicopters are on the shoulders or legs is a alright idea for combiner wars. Kind of like Buildmaster/ The build team from RID.
