Aqua ended up becoming my default character for BBS - she's the one I beat the Mirage Arena with, she's the one I beat Vanitas Remnant, No Heart, Monstro, and Young Xehanort with, and the one who's gotten the most playtime and EXP.

Playing as Terra I instantly felt heavier, more powerful. But as he was my first character play through, I didn't even edit the Deck too much until it was simply impossible to progress (by then it was in Olympus). Playing as Terra felt like a classic Kingdom Hearts scenario - hard as hell and new. I was really struggling against Xehanort at the end and damn did it feel good to beat him.

With Ven, I started focusing on Decks and abilities more whereas I kinda just roughed it with Terra. He was fast, and I loved his gliding, but he felt too nimble for me.

Aqua, once I got the hang of her, felt great. In the original Kingdom Hearts I loved fighting a mob of Heartless by combining physical attacks with magic. After a combo I'd rain down Mjolnr's power with Thundaga. Combat felt fluid. Aqua is like an evolution of that. All her attacks are magic-based and it felt awesome.

Regarding Marvel and Star Wars, simple answer is that yes, I want them. I was wanting a "City of Heroes" world that is a combination of Big Hero 6, Marvel, and The Incredibles, but as big as Marvel is it would probably need its own world.

As for Star Wars, I'm imagining that the first visit (if there are multiple) will revolve around A New Hope. Someone mentioned that it would probably be impractical since one of the main settings, the Death Star, would be gone after the campaign there wrapped up. Well, I figure that if you don't get all the chests aboard the Death Star before you finish the world, then whenever you return, you get a cutscene with Luke or whoever where he says "Hey Sora! A bunch of stuff from the Death Star fell down to Tatooine/Yavin/wherever. Go take a look and see what you can find!" And you get an in-game prompt saying that there are chests now scattered around Yavin that you can collect. Therefore you don't lose them like you lost the Trinity mark at Oogie's Manor back in KH1.

And a Darth Vader boss would be amazing, you all know this to be true. Maybe in the Cantina you'd see other characters in the background like Embo, Cad Bane, Hondo, or even Maul? Maul could be an optional boss fight.

Back on the topic of Marvel, whatever they cover, I'm sure they'll bring back the current cast of Marvel TV - meaning Adrian Pasdar, Drake Bell, and James Arnold Taylor (I hate him as Yondu already) etc. But again, there's so much that could be adapted.

Aqua is not a Physically character, She relies on her Magic commands and Drive forms to deal most her damage.

I know, I had to rely on more strategy than I'm used to. In KH 1 and
2, I relied more on physical attacks with some magic thrown in to cover my butt, but as Aqua is purely a magic character, I had to re teach myself how to handle combat. I actually like her now, ironically. It was a lot of fun fighting the last 2 bosses with her.

Honestly, the only thing I really want from Star Wars is a fight with Vader. Everything else would just be a bonus.

Also, you talk about KH's Star Wars being set around A New Hope...if SE does end up following Episode 4, how do you think they'd do the climax with the destruction of the Death Star? Would Sora and Co tool around inside it and have to get out before everything goes boom, or would the player actually participate in the battle with Sora, Donald, and Goofy flying the Gummi Ship into the trenches of the Death Star?

Yeah, like I said, Aqua's the sort of character that forces you to adopt new strategies if you don't want to die a lot. Probably part of the reason why it's suggested she be played last...

Hmm. Well, Gummi ship sequences have never been a favorite of fans for the past thirteen years. Yeah, the first thing that comes to mind is a Gummi ship-style Trench Run. We already had one homaging it in KH2's final Gummi mission. Let me think it over, and come up with something that adapts the plot and still lets you fight Vader.

The gang arrives to the world, but the Gummi ship is attacked by an Imperial fleet and caught in a tractor beam. The gang abandons ship and is stranded on Tatooine. They decide to search for some way to get off the planet, having heard of a Xehanort bumping around somewhere, and they end up meeting with Han right after he agrees to help Luke and Ben. The larger group heads for the Falcon and takes off.

Da da da, Ben explains Luke will be a Jedi. Han picks up some radio chatter about some Imperials abducting a strange colorful ship, and Sora is told they might get more info at Alderaan. The gang arrives at the ruins of Alderaan, and end up getting sucked into the Death Star's tractor beam. The mission to infiltrate the Death Star takes place, and eventually Ben dies. Han says he found the Gummi ship and directs them to it elsewhere in the Death Star.

They get to the Gummi ship only to be confronted by Vader himself - and Xemnas. Xemnas has told Vader that Sora is a grave threat to the Empire - which Vader acknowledges, but still doesn't trust Xemnas. Cue boss battle, kinda like Vader confronting Ezra and Kanan in Rebels recently. They beat Vader, escape and are able to rejoin the Falcon at Yavin. The trench run takes place, and Sora ends up battling Xemnas, both via Gummi ships and eventually in-person as well. Death Star is destroyed, "we can go home".

Kinda setting up seeds for a fight between Xemnas and Vader, or even Xemnas and Sidious. Would be cool. :D

So I beat BBS. Man those last battles were tough! Still, they were really fun. I'm thinking of replaying the other games now while BBS is still fresh in my mind.

Tell me about it, I haven't beat Terrahnort yet in the secret bonus mission. Xigbar was a real bitch to beat with Aqua too, and I have to re-do everything in her save file, then re-defeat the bastard because I don't have everything 100% for the proper ending in the secret bonus mission save file. *SIGH*

Alright, folks. Rumor has it that at Tokyo Game Show, Square is going to announce "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.9 ReMIX" for PS3 and PS4. Supposedly it's not only going to have a DDD remaster, but a demo for III as well! Fingers crossed, TGS starts on the 19th!

It's worth noting that apparently "2.9" was leaked briefly at E3 before it disappeared.

I'd rather they release a KH collection on the Wii U with the DS games intact... Or just release them on the Virtual console.

No offense, but calling it 2.9 makes no sense at all...

I believe they'll just release KH3D Remaster as a standalone physical and digital release, with a KH3 secret video included.

It certainly merits the usual barrel of salt that comes with reading rumors.

Why would I take offense to that?

I think the 2.9 title is a bit promising. It's right before 3, after all. Meaning that if this title is the 2016 Kingdom Hearts game, then it's highly likely that 2017 will be our year.

If it is a collection, the other two games would be playable 358/2 Days and Re: Coded hopefully.

    (tbh I don't care for KH Chi/X)

I'll still play it, mostly because I suspect more than a few plot details from that game will show up in III.

Hopefully it's a remix of DDD for both system along with some added content like a mogie version of Chi and/or even BBS V2 if it's possible.

Anway I've now started to play Aqua in BBS and I think she's my favourite character to play right now. With how she uses her magic I really do get the feeling of her being a powerful mage.

Also mentioned on a SquareEnix employee's LinkedIn Page. He mentions being a project head for 2.9. *shrug* Will get hyped when more is known. Until then DESTINY!

I fell asleep watching the re:coded cutscenes in 2.5, but I'd love to have a playable 358/2 Days, it's my favorite besides KH1 and BBS. Though I wish they'd have another go at the cutscenes, the dialogue and acting was awful at times. Plus we'd get the Saïx fight for sure this time!

I'm considering giving Chi a try but it's never looked that appealing. I'm happy to read whatever's important off the internet.

Regarding III, I know there's always a few months gap between the Japanese and Western releases, but I hope the wait isn't too long regardless. It's going to be very, very hard to avoid spoilers for the finale for three or four months.

So, semi-related question: Anyone think there'll be a KHIII Final Mix?

    Please for God's sake no.

They should just release updates or even do it as DLC. No more Final Mixes. I never bothered with them because I wasn't essentially re-buying the game.

Yeah, I agree. I'd rather not have to view Final Mix content through a translated Youtube video.

I ask mostly because Final Mix games have this habit of introducing future villains/characters as extra bosses. The first game had Xemnas, II had Terra, BBS had
    Young Xehanort
...Basically, what I'm saying is, if III has Final Mix content/DLC, we might get a glimpse of the next storyline's villain.
