As Yeled said, I'm going to guess the Nissan logo is on the back. I still wish there were mirrors as literally every previous MP has them...that one really bugs me. 21cm is a good height for him, so that's good news at least.

 

The latest magazine scan is said to indicate MP-27 Ironhide is 21cm in height which is the same height as the MP-11 Seeker mold (to top of their heads)

 

Which, I believe, means Ironhide will come to the middle or maybe the top of MP-10's windows.

 

I dont' know about the scale chart, but in the cartoon the Van Bros were not the same height as the seekers.

They were usually half-a-head to a full head shorter.

 

I am thinking rotating it up may look better. Not behind him, but at least up, so it doesn't look like Holsters.

Thats what I love about the Masterpiece line, thers always at least one G1 toy transformation step in there. giving not only an aesthetic nostalga kick but also a tactile one.

The main thing wrong with him is indeed still the face. If you look at the cartoon comparison shots above, you can see that the eyes are larger in the cartoon (there is no gray between the eyes and the top and sides of his helmet), and the face isn't as long (the MP has too long of a nose).

I do think Ironhide is the perfect size in relation to the Seekers and Optimus. The problem is that he will seem bigger compared to the other cars than he did in the cartoon. I think that's more of a result of how they wanted the cars to be able to fit inside MP-10's trailer. Sideswipe any taller (and thus any wider) just wouldn't fit, nor would Wheeljack.

The same thing happened with Ultra Magnus, he's a little bigger than he should be to allow that playability. Now imagine if the car-bots had been a little bigger and they'd compromised by making Prime's trailer wider - the resulting four-car carrying Ultra Magnus would be fucking huge!!

 

As Dean has often pointed out - anything like that would kill his waist rotation. I'm also fairly confident any rotation you might do of that hip panel will have to bring the wheel with it as they are connected I believe. I think we are just gonna have to accept the hip panels. Holsters is an OK look for someone with cowboy boots though  .

 

Of course. What I am thinking is for posing on shelf purposes.

 

Is that a fact though - not sure. Struggling to find a pic of them together with mere Google, but the one I have* they are the same height.

Y'know, you can easily pull a screen shot from the TV show to either support this or to disprove it. What matters to me is how I remember it overall after watching all those episodes several times. The idea we have in our heads means more than any sreencap or scale chart. And in my mind, it's that same as you have it in your mind - Ironhide is a bit shorter than the seekers.
Voodoo has gone out of their way to show the size comparisons between their effort and Optimus and the Fairlady and the seekers, and theirs is just a touch shorter than the seekers, which I like. I wont begin to say it's right or wrong, it's just that I like that.
This one? We'll just see. Once we have serious comparison pics like Voodoo has given us, We'll know better.

He looks fantastic! The only real criticism I have is wishing the hip panels can be angled slightly so they don't impede the outward movement of the legs too much (if not being able to swivel backward to cover his wheel butt cheeks). Can't wait to get him into my MP Bot collection.
