good point. Well he better turn around, because I think Lil' Cthulhu is gonna snatch the last 3 slices.

Maybe learn to read: Or its because she was waiting for a fucking Leia figure because she doesn't need to start another SW toyline that doesn't bother making any female characters. Some Hasbro TFA catalog got leaked in its entirety, looks like its been deleted off most of the reputable websites now. No real surprises, the 3,75" Falcon is shit.
Hmm. I never did pick up the BS Scout Trooper, so maybe I'll give the SHF a whirl... But damn that Battle Droid looks great! Finally a release from the prequel trilogy to get excited about!
Female, male, whatever.. Not everyone gets the characters they want.. I want 6" black versions of captain rex, commander gree, commander Bly, and wolffe.. None of those seem to be happening but I'm not out complaining as much as I could that every single product needs to include them. Not everyone sees a couple new figures and says "no women.. They must be sexist".. People, just want to see the characters that they like. For you, it's the female characters, but just because you're not getting what you want doesn't mean that that's any worse than other people not getting what they want. Complaining about every single line not having enough female characters (and in turn belittling the characters that are getting released that some of us like) or getting a female character just not the way you want them to be isn't going to change anything. Blast hasbro's twitter and email.. Do things like that, get a group together, show them that there are more female fans out there than they seem to think. I'm sure plenty of fans would like more (better) female figures, but when we don't see them our first thought isn't sexism, but that does seem to be yours. I just feel that you see things far too black and white. And you certainly don't need to lash out and get defensive every time someone questions you. People come on here to get away from real world problems, and real world problems aren't going to get changed here. After all, we're not in charge of the stuff that gets made. Also, don't twist anything around, I'm not at all saying that your grievances aren't warranted. I'm just saying that not everything is an attack against women or purposefully exclusionary towards women. Not everyone has your perspective. And you're not going to be able to change the way everyone else views the world. I'm sure you'll have some kind of obscenity laden response to this comment, and that's fine.
Maybe learn to dial back the hostility a bit, and not treat everything as some huge injustice. I mean, this was your first reaction: Overreacting much? Oh, wait, that's just you expressing "worry" Maybe the fact that kimono and parasol screams passive to you is more your issue than the designers at Bandai. It seems the minute you heard kimono your mind went to "Those fucking misogynist designers at Bandai, damn them all to hell!" You have no idea what they are going to do except "kimono and parasol," but in your mind it's already a huge affront against women and fuck Bandai for even considering it. I cringe every time I see anyone utter the word "woman" or a female character is even brought up because nine times out of ten, you'll erupt onto the scene with vitriol or passive aggressive statements. Pretty much sums up what I was thinking. Whenever I see a thread that has grown four or so pages overnight, I know it's either because of you (Femmebot) or Dr. Kain, depending on the thread, arguing with other posters because you both tend to treat opinions as facts and aggressively attack anyone who has a dissenting opinion.
I still come across scout troopers at wal-mart. I feel like buying the remaining ones.. then again that $19 each could be put towards TFA stuff.
Yeah you don't get every character you want, but 90% of what you do get are male. So you don'tget to turn around and act like a woman complaining about the lack of women is the same as not getting a 6" Rex (when one is coming out soon anyway). there is a difference between not getting specific characters you want and having an entire gender systemically ignored. No not everyone. We call those people 'males'. You all get pandered to to an obscene extent and you've got such little perspective you think not getting some random male character is comparable to a 90/10 gender split in the toyline. Complaining about 5POA constantly won't change anything but that doesn't stop most of you. But you all shit yourselves in outrage when I complain about the lack of women. You complain about what bothers you, and I'll complain about what bothers me. Why don't you do that instead of complaining about 5POA figures and poor paint apps? Or is ok to moan about everything wrong with Star Wars toys except how it treats the other half of the species? Yeah its not your first thought because you're guys and you're the ones being pandered too. It is black and white. Female characters are such a low priority they are almost entirely absent from most Star Wars lines, the glorious exception being Hasbro where they manage between 5-15% of any given line over the past 30 years. I'm not saying its purposeful either. It isn't. No one at Hasbro or Bandai or Sideshow is sitting around thinking "how can we fuck over women?" it just happens naturally because of a variety of intersecting cultural and systemic issues. No they don't, and I don't expect them to. I don't require anyone to care about this as much as I do. But if you're all going to moan about 5POA and distribution problems and god knows what then I'm sure as hell not going to stop complaining about the gender ratio either. Just because you don't think it is an issue doesn't mean it isn't. I didn't even fucking accuse Bandai of sexism, I said they were misinterpreting her outfit for fucks sake. Edit: And believe me there is nothing I would love more than not to be able to have to worry about this shit. I wasn't even looking for an argument, I had some concerns over the concept art and last night there was a discussion which was perfectly polite then this morning there is a heap of fucking passive aggressive BS about it.
Yep, very excited by that. I love the Battle Droid and every single figure made of it has been a soft-plastic bummer (although I haven't bothered with Sideshow's 12" version). Hopefully this Figuarts will be a nice, hard plastic. Also, that Royal Guard is sick. Wowzers.
The whole Star Wars female figure thing isn't even really Hasbro's fault. It isn't Marvel where there are endless female superheroes that need figures. The OT barely had any females, the prequels had about the same amount. So I don't understand the endless complaints. When you think of females in Star Wars, there's currently five that are big enough to warrant figures. Leia, Padme, Mara Jade, Ahsoka, and Rey. There's a much larger pool of male characters.
Right, it's not like Hasbro have been doing obscure cantina aliens and background characters for decades or anything lol. There are dozens of women less obscure than some of the aliens and constant fucking pilots we get. OT: Oola, Mon Mothma, Beru Lars, Tonnika sisters, pink cantina lady, Dorovio Bold, Sila Kott, Karie Neth, Toryn Farr (6"), Sy Snootles, Yarna dal Whatever, Jabbas three other dancers PT: Padme Amidala (6")Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, Depa Billaba, Adi Gallia, Zam Wessel, Stass Allie, Jocasta Nu, Yaddle, Aurra Sing a few of the Geonosis padawans and knights I forget the name of. TCW: Satine Kryze, Bo Katan, Sugi, Asajj Ventress, probably more I'm forgetting. Comics: Aphra, Sana Solo, Aiolin Astarte, Tulon Voidgazer, Ssaria, Evaan Verlaine Novels: Rae Sloane, Delian Mors, generic female Imperial officer, female Stormtrooper Rebels: Hera (6"), Maketh Tua Sure some of these are obscure but no less obscure than some of the cantina aliens, named clones and pilots we've got even in the past few years. I'm not saying they should all get figures either, but even putting aside different costumes of Leia and Padme there are more than enough characters to maintain a 25-33% gender ratio per wave for years without repeating. Edit: List of names from memory I'm sure I'm missing some and obviously not including the EU which seems to be available for Hasbro to choose from again.
Really disappointed in the larger vehicle lineup. The new TIE fighter and X-Wing are tiiiiiny. And I was really looking forward to a new, proper big X-Wing toy. Hell the entire toyline in general is surprisingly lackluster. You'd think it would be bigger then it is. Or is this just the initial stuff with way more and better stuff coming later? I really hope that's the case.
