Aren't we (or perhaps, shouldn't we be) beyond the 'X series sucks' threads? It's so Usenet/ATT. This board is better than that. The series you hate the most is someone else's favorite. Why flamebait?
I didn't really like the Armada/Energon/Cybertron series but I really like R.I.D... how does that work? lol. I think my main problem is that they seemed to focus WAAAYYY too much on the obnoxious kids (first of all... Rad and Kicker are not REAL names ). In the first episode of Armada didn't Prime and Megatron not show up until about like the last 2 minutes? Unacceptable. A TRANSFORMERS show should be about TRANSFORMERS! Not their human friends. While re-watching G1 I sometimes say to myself "Wait a minute... that episode had NO Spike!" What a concept! Although, in G1 my least favorite episode, B.O.T, focuses heavily on obnoxious kids... coincidence? With that said I guess Armada wasn't THAT bad... I really liked the duo of Cyclonus and Demolishor
The episodes where Megatron and Starscream fight were pretty good and ultimately leading to Starscreams death which was one of my favorite episodes.
Call me crazy but I gave Armada a chance right up until the last episode. I didn't hate it persay but it could of been tonnes better. Though I do hold Galaxy Force (not Cybertron mind you,) in high regard. It's my favorite TF series in a long time. And Valk hit the nail on the head. People crapped all over Armada and yelled that G1 was sooo much better. Riiiight. G1 had far worse production values, not to mention the slew of animation errors and bad stories. I still watch it though much like I will watch anything Transformers except Cybertron.

Doesn't mean a thing. For every kid you find that likes it, I can find one that doesn't. I thought we've moved past this "My son/nephew/neighbor/etc liked/hated it, so everyone their age group must like/hate it" line of thinking.
.... Well, Why would the Transformers travel to one world... of possibly millions... in pure hope that the minicons would be there? That would be pretty much ******ed. You know... building up the story? Anywho I pretty much ignore the G1 episodes Kremzeek and BOT. They are very stupid.
Actually, Rad's real name is Bradly. I'm positive his parents called him that in one or two of the episodes. I suspect Kicker is also a nickname, as the character seems to 'kick' things alot.
And quite frankly people who are biased for/against something tend to influence the people around them into agreement, and thus use that as evidence that 'lots of people' support their argument. Like that crazy chick on the official board who is convincing everybody she knows not to watch the movie.
QFT, this is just like some threads I've seen in the Ninja Turtles fandom. Where some detractors rant and rave about how the 4Kids TV Ninja Turtles wasn't the real Turtles. And that the real turtles are the 80's kiddy version :redface2 And this same "debate" although I use the term loosely...Is going on in the thread about the new animated show rumour There's really no reason to hate on ANY TF series as it's all really pretty much the same. G1-Cybertron it's ALL Transformers guys. And honestly I'd be careful when bashing a series that's not G1. Because guarenteed there's someone out there in Cyberspace that could tear into it just as bad if not WORSE. And Rodimus, your anecdotal recount really doesn't prove G1's superiority to any other show. It's just proves he liked what he saw at the time
Good point FFN I mean the kid's 2 going on 3. It's very easy to subtley influence someone of that age
if we all do remember, this is a childrens show after all. I <3 ARMADA. DON'T SCREW WITH ARM! I BITE! Yeah...it had a "dark side" to it. the Anti-christ like figure, Sideways. Unicron tried to destroy a planet. prime vs galvatron, awesomeness. Nemesis prime was pretty cool. There was a lot of good. And the show's soundtrack wasn't too bad either. And i <3 rid too.
