Thanks for the tip! I'll try that next time I transform these guys.

Any tips on getting that knee panel to sit flush on the sides that form the camera lens on the first go? A few times it just fell into place, and other tins I had to force it to sit flat like the other side. I swear I'm not doing anything differently.

Anyway, I love these guys. Maketoys has done an amazing job with these figures. As with all of their products the quality is top notch.

If the only nitpick I could find with the figure is a bit of mold flash on one knee, that says something.

Based on all the 3rd party figs I have, Maketoys seems the most consistent with build quality.

Also, something I wanted to point out specific to Allucard, who was on the fence with these guys, the molded purple plastic has the takara MP shine to it. So they coated the molds, which really helps the fit.

They also didn't paint any parts that would rub from transformation which shows a great deal of thought in regards to the figure.

    And damn, them chest details!

Did some work on the Maketoys Visualizers since the colors were bugging me everytime I looked at them. The white arms, legs, and different colored joints were killing it for me the most. Reflector was more purple when they (he) first appeared on the very first cartoon episode of the Transformers. They (he) turned more of a shade of blue on later episodes. So purple for me. And they (he) didn't have that freaken red stripe on their forearms.

ANYWAYS. I feel better looking at these guys now.

DAMN, that's how they should have looked. Awesome paint job. Still able to transform back-and-forth without chipping?

Wonder what the chances are of MT releasing another version with darker grey colors....

Yup no chipping. These guys have enough clearance to transform back and forth no probs.

Nice pics Sixo!, just curious did you paint yours? they look a darker grey than other pics I've seen.

Very nice work! Did you use some acrylic paint? or just something like Gundam Markers? The colours look great!

I wonder if Maketoys had a slight retool and repaint into a toy-accurate version in mind when they designed this? I think all they'd need to do is put new heads on each of them and new chests on each of the side bots, and there is precedent with Gundog....

This is why I love a darker grey for this set. It makes the border frame around the green chests stand out, accenting what is IMO the characters' strongest design element, their chest shape.

The choice of the grey color from TF4me is perfect. But in the cartoon the legs and the face were not grey like the arms! Just the arms were dark grey. The face and the legs are white or much lighter grey, just as MT's version is.
Anyway: what color did you use?

This post made me laugh. Have they released MP AnythingStorm yet? :D

Yep, that's how I do it. Much easier! The first time transforming the middle guy can be a little testing.

    Amazing! :thumb

You're making the wait for UW Devastator very hard. :D

I might have to do a group shot with my Coneheads as well, at some point, but think I will wait for BC Insecticons to arrive. :)

Thanks, mate. No, haven't painted them - just the light I suspect, although I do think they're a touch darker in hand than many photos I have seen. They're definitely light grey and not white.

Where is that background from? It doesn't look like any of the Toyhax displays I'm aware of.

Rather obviously, they're labeled as "Nemesis".

Yup on the link metaphorge on where to get the nemesis background. Just print them out.

I used a darker gray on the arms. The face, legs, and back pack are actually a lighter shade of gray/silver. I also painted the shin parts a lighter purple on the two guys in the back. I kept the chest area untouched on all of the figs.

Edit- I also took off those ankle guards? They slide right out.

Excuse my sucky pic...I used an old cell phone.

Suggestion for those of you who're just about to receive this guy - Vangelus' video review makes a really good point about the transformation. When transforming the middle guy, the instructions tell you to clip his legs together first, then they fold over and clip onto his arms and the shoulders. However, this is really quite tricky! It's much easier to fold over and peg in each leg in turn first, and then peg the leg/ arm combos together. I just did this now and it took me a matter of a few minutes to transform the middle guy. He's actually now much easier than the outer guys, in my opinion.

I'm still very impressed by this transformation. Everything tabs in! It's all so secure and neat. Very satisfying.

Can you just pop the white things off their ankles?

Wow. Now if they looked like this out of the box, I would be harder pressed to keep holding out for FT. You've really captured them as I picture them in my mind's eye. Cheers!

Impressive. Tempted to just do the arms similar but keep the red stripe and whiteish legs.

These images are amazing! I love the transformation sequence, and the especially the poses you gave Ravage! Also, good to know that you can plug Laserbeak/Buzzsaw on the Visualizers arm.
