You know, god forbid people actually liking movie toys and getting upgrade kits for them. Besides, FWI is a movie only 3rd part company, so far at least. They have helped to make great figures even better, as has UFO the demand is there. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others don't.

Anyway, I really like the weapons, and the jetpack and weapons ring are great, but I'm not sure on everything as a whole. I'll probably get everything, but I definitely want the weapons first.

 

True, but I would like some confirmation if these upgrade kits can be compatible with either Voyager mold for maximum playability. More options is a good thing, in my book. Still, even if BB OP can't hold the weapons or can't wear the jetwing backpack, I suppose he'll still look good just standing there posed in front of the Annular armory while EM OP gets to fly around going pew-pew with his new accessories.

If I were to get these sets it would be for HFTD or DOTM Voyager not AOE Evasion OP. Maybe DOTM Ultimate.

As a lot of others have said this set does seem odd to be designed for AOE Optimus Prime but I understand that he is more readily available and has displaced HFTD Optimus as the definitive movie Prime in many people's displays.

I myself have yet to pick up an Evasion Prime mold. I do think it's a great figure and does capture the CGI likeness very well but I wanted the Takara version and just never got around to that.

With all of that said I think my displaying OCD would prevent me from using these upgrades on the Evasion Prime mold.

These upgrade kits are First Trilogy Prime Upgrades. Evasion Optimus never used the jetpack or the armory or any of those weapons besides the canon so for that reason alone I would want to use this kit with the definitive First Trilogy Prime which is the battle blades version. Even if it isn't perfect and totally comptable with the kits he'll look better aesthetically with the kits than Evasion Prime.

Plus as far as the weapons go, Battles Blades Prime could hold them as long as you don't mind sanding or cutting down the 5 mm pegs which is what I totally plan on doing.

Since nobody has replied to this thread, I don’t think people still care about this set or have forgotten about it but it’s up for purchase on BigBadToyStore. It’s still ridiculous that this set is sold in three separate pieces, especially at the prices they’re asking for. Just to complete this (non transforming) set, you’d need to spend a little over $100 + shipping.

 

I know it may sound weird, but can Takara Legends God Ginrai and Perfect Effect Jinrai hold the weapons? I may pick up the fwi 5 set just to add more weapons to the arsenal of my main optimus

 

Possibly. Transformers from G1 onwards through the CHUG and movie lines are largely tooled to be compatible with 5mm weapon pegs. This thing was an add-on for an official product, who likely had 5mm weapon peg compatibility. By the transitive property of math, this thing should be compatible with about 75% of mass produced Transformers and/or anything meant to work with mass produced Transformers.

That being said, there's always mild variances between products, and Third-Party toys don't always match everything right, so there's always a good chance that the accessories here will stress or bust your character's plugs, will wobble around in them like the last breadstick at Olive Garden, or simply be too big to properly seat in the peg hole.
