So I saw the premier tonight... wow.

I didn't wan't to believe all of the reviews, but there was just not much in this movie to say good things about. I'm not going to add to any debate here about minor details, I'm just saying this was a bad film.

I personally think that Marvel/Disney should sue FOX to get the rights back on the grounds that after 20 years and 4 horrible movies, that Fox has damaged the FF brand. (maybe permanently.)

If this keeps up it'll end up on the “Worst Movies Ever” list on Wikipedia.

If this bombs spectacularly and the RT score stays so low, they might actually have a shot at suing Fox for damaging their brand.

At this point the sequel or crossovers is dead even if it does well at the box office not even that could save it

That means nothing. Twitter can destroy a movie in minutes.

Man of Steel: Sci-fi/alien invasion film
    Dawn of Justice: Political film
Suicide Squad: Hired gun/villain ensemble film
Wonder Woman: possibly a war/mythological film
    Captain Marvel/Shazam: Mythological/more comedic film
    The Flash: Possibly comedic film

Days of Future Past: Time travel film
    X-Men: Apocalypse: Apocalyptic film
    Deadpool: Fourth-wall-breaking/R rated comedic film

All studios interject a secondary flavor, so I don't get why only MCU counts.

Agreed. Outside of those two and Winter Soldier, I haven't connected with the universe. Halfway through Daredevil though, It looks to be another for me to add.

I liked the first trailer for Fantastic 4, but the marketing has been bad IMO. It sounds like a movie that's ambitious but fell apart at the end. Still actually like to see it, but I'm going in with lowered expectations now.

Ha! Marvel/Disney would never do that because of how it would look. People will see it as Marvel/Disney wanting Fox to give them what they can't have, so they try to wrangle Fox into some legal fiasco.

Fox wants an X-men Tv series, marvel wants FF and cosmic characters.
Fox has to go through Marvel to be allowed to do a TV series
This movie currently has 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. (Only 9 positive out of 90 reviews)
Maybe a deal can happen now that both sides has something the other wants.

That and how the character personalities (not race) are the problem here, what you watch are four moody generic teens masquerading around trying to be immersed as characters that they never really resembled to begin with.

I, personally, have not seen a lot of the whole race thing come into play, other than Sue Storm being adopted has no bearings on the plot at all. It could have been used to make a unique relationship between her and her brother and dad. It isn't.

I also hear that Johnny's actor and Reed's actor should have switched roles. So...there's that.

Wow it seems like there is another franchise other than Transformers to get a royal beat down from critics, if it was released the same year as a Transformers movie maybe they could have shared the razzie awards between them.

Even though it is seemingly increasingly unlikely that this movie will turn out to be the happy middle ground between credibility and spectacle I was hoping for I hope it's cast eventually find a different route into the big time as they are an extremely talented up and coming bunch (see wiplash, house of cards and nymphomaniac for great performances) and it would be nice to see some new Hollywood talent rather than the usual go to Hollywood types for credible sci-fi or comic book roles. The naughties fantastic four movies even though pretty embarrassing worked out pretty well for Chris Evans or should I say in spite of those moves.

After Earth sounds like a perfect title to Fantastic Four II.

Apart from Deadpool's strong comedic angle, most of what you've just listed are all variations on the typical "save the world plot". Some villain from the past/future/alternate reality with magic/mutant/alien powers rises up and wants to conquer/destroy the heroes/the city/the Earth. They're all different ways of saying "the world is going to hell and we need someone to fix it".

Marvel Studios has been drawing inspiration from outside those superhero genre trappings. They give them a style and flavour beyond the "save the world" endgame.

Audience reviews are now posted on RT and it is at 35%. Some of those 5 star ratings seems to be from trolls that didn't see the movie. The same can be said about the 1/2-1 stars. Also a lot of people don't know how to rate movies. They will automatically give 5 stars to movies they liked and 1/2 star to the ones they did not like.

I do understand the errors people are pointing at and agree with them, but I still want to see this movie, even if it is not as good as I was expecting
