Signature weapon? I'm pretty sure his signature weapon is the Ion Blaster. The energy (energon) weapons have varied through the years (axes, swords, hooks, etc...) so I don't know that signature would necessarily apply to the axe. As far as G1 is concerned, he only used the thing once, in MTMTE atop the Hoover Dam.

October is so far away I hope this game lives up to the hype. My son and I want to play this game something fierce!
His signature weapon happens to be the axe he only ever used once in the cartoon I've never understood why the axe and mace are considered so iconic.

The axe is iconic because it's cool! Even if it was only used once. I kinda like that it has a special place in TF lore and hasn't been reused since then. I think a lot of fans recognize the ion blaster as OP's personal firearm but it loses points for just being another blaster-type weapon. Everyone carries a blaster. I hope Grimlock has his sword!
Immense health and attack power? Sounds like Optimus (and possibly Grimlock) will be the 'easy/god-mode' character. Or whatever the kids say these days. The suspense is killing me! I wish it were November...
True, but one time is all it takes. Besides, MTMTE was the episode(s) that introduced us to the TF universe and its characters. I'd say that pilot/premiere was indeed iconic in its own right. Also, what weapon did Optimus use to finally defeat and utterly destroy Megatron in the live action movies? Yup, his trusty ol' energon axe! Can't wait to see the other character bios. Wheeljack's is the one I'm anticipating the most since he's my favorite Bot! Hopefully he has his Shockblast cannon (that will blow up in his face every now and then - could maybe do AOE damage to nearby enemies if you detonate it on purpose) and couple of other zany gadgets to use as special attacks at his disposal.

Such a Shame the gameplay looks like shit. Finally a tf game about g1 that actually looks good graphically, and we get a 5 autobot version of a crappy bayonetta wannabe clone.

Uhm.. yeah.. Pretty sure others have already pointed this out, but Prime's SIGNATURE weapon is and always HAS been his Ion Blaster, not his obscure as the PIT itself Energon Axe..
I think that is at 24seconds in the video they posted. and i believe they went with the axe since its probably impossible to do combos with a gun lol
