Yea. Because the only real reason to keep an MISB figure is either the ability to sell it for a fortune years from now or just as a trophy. What's the point in keeping a bot MISB box when there is no display window. Unless it has the flap that opens. I bought a 1984 cj7 that a guy drove three times a year. Needless to say it's nice. But I drive it every day. And enjoy it. I didn't buy a mint one to keep in the garage and one to drive. In a different incident I was buying ammo for my 9mm. This was when ammo was scarce. I found some and was about to clear the shelf until I noticed a guy standing behind me eyeballing the same ammo. I restrained and let him take half. Only about four boxes each. I had no idea who he was. But I gave him the courtesy. It's not about knowing who you're helping. My wife just dropped off lots of goods to the Girls Home. Didn't know any of them. So the whole "not knowing the fans seeking these figures" thing is bs. It's selfish and entitled. I have no duplicates or repaints. But then again, I grew up in the 80's poor and acquired my toys either by taking paper routes or trading. I was happy to have one incomplete, maybe chipped and broken a bit. We have become spoiled collectors. Take them out and enjoy them.

^he's spoiled bc he likes to buy a figure MISB to keep pristine? and then you tell him to take it our and enjoy it? maybe he enjoys keeping it in the box... why do you care what he does with his toys and money?

    Missed it, bummer.

If it's anything like Japanese MPs, it'll be great to hear everyone saying how cheap it was to score a preorder a year down the road and we shoulda done that instead of "waiting to buy one" (AKA being unable to buy one).

I dunno, as stated earlier, TRU really doesn't know how to handle this line. This stuff happens every time, and certain areas will have tons of them, and others will have none at all, and some people will be screwed because they have no TRU near them at all. The only reason I got Hasbro Prime and Soundwave was luck (and some persistence in my hunt for SW).

Ehh I usually stop after I get one... but if someone wants to buy 20 Starscreams to build a shrine with then more power to them. As for the scalpers, just dont buy from them. Pretty simple. When someone gets stuck with a bundle of Starscreams they will either take them back to TRU and put it back into the mix or unload them for cheap on ebay. Unlike us, scalpers tend to be impatient when it comes to selling their merchandise.

Seriously though, the ultimate way to cut this crap is to drag hasbro out from under the rug publicly about it. I never understood why people hide this type of thing for after the Q&A. Like the Devastator debacle, no one opened their mouth at the Q&A and told hasbro we want that type of thing and are willing to pay a little more for it. You don't have to be rude about it, just say, hey we noticed that Takara is releasing a collector oriented version of devastator is there any plans of doing a limited run of that here?

But nope, instead of showing that there could be a viable market for such a thing we just ate up the chrome plated SDCC retool like good little sheep and kept quite till "after the q&a".

Best advice ever. We take the risk of not getting a preorder filled, let the scalper take the risk of not off loading Starscream. More of these will show up physically at stores. Just have to time the shipments with a phone call as soon as they open to have one reserved.

The ideology of the scalper is stupid once logically broken down. Even if you pay $50 extra bucks, that scalper will always need more money after the sell and is always at the bottom. Once you buy that item, you will alway have that item.

But I'm not about helping the scalper out.

I did not say he was spoiled. He did state that he only bought one. And I said WE are spoiled. That would include me. Read the content. Don't care about money unless it takes product away from people who want or need it. Again....read the full content. I gave examples. But your statement reinforces my "selfish and entitled" statement. The MISB has always reminded me of the "my precious" mentality. Might be a tad bit of crazy there. But I'm 41 and have Transformers, so what's crazier?

I want to clarify what is particularly galling abt this whole ordeal: as illustrated by my Devy anecdote, I know there are scalper-collectors right here in this thread posting crap like "well I got one for the kid, another one for the alt mode, yada yada" when we know damn well they got the xtras to scalp and fund their collecting ... Not saying they're Satan's spawn or anything, but just stop the two-faced bs and humble-bragging as you get your undercover Schadenfreude on ... It's pathetic and insulting

Price increases of more than a few bucks by a retailer is "scalper"-ish in itself. Unless of course it means having to buy a whole new run after a sellout and the supplier upped the price on them (which may be happening, but knowing TRU I doubt it).

Higher limits like this are killing the hobby too. It feeds the opportunists. No one should need more than 3 of a non-army builder. If that statement ticks you off, make another damn order and risk losing out. You already got 3 for God's sake, don't be greedy. Consider the extra shipping your penance for your neurosis.

Hello all, I believe this is my 1st, possibly last post. I'm sure it's been mentioned that within hours pre-orders sold out and I have no hate to those who ordered multiples for their own use, but what I don't understand and can no longer support is Hasbros business model.... I just don't get it. Rather than make enough so they can get my money, it's like they would prefer I gave 2 or 3 times that money to someone on eBay. I'm not doing it again, I'll never do it again. On day 1 I won't be able to find this thing on eBay for less than 120 for no particular reason. Hasbros business model is the most jacked up thing I've ever seen... I can't even wrap my mind around it. It literally benefits no one other than scalpers. So if this is what the future holds for these toys, I'm out. Who can even afford it? The worst part is none of it makes any sense. There can't be that many people out there buying these things, how could there not be enough for pre-order? How many will be made post pre-order fills? I don't know, but if I don't like the answer, I'm not sticking around anymore. They have created a problem here, they need to fix it.

Some people need to mind their own collections and don't worry about how others are collecting...

Now, if a scalper was buying these, another story, they're not collectors, they are bottom feeders who feed off of desparate collectors, not fair to everyday guys who just want one piece.

If someone wants one fordisplay, and one for MISB...they are collecting, and that is their chosen way. Who is anyone to critisize and knock that? In short...no one is anyone, its not your money, it's not your collection. Theres nothing spoiled about a MISB collection, nor does there have to be some "my precious" or trophy stroking bullshit...its a preference...not anyones to criticize.

Now, i myself am pissed because it's so hard tofind a damn Seeker under $100... A limit of 5 is bullshit in my opinion, just feeds Scalpers. Limit should be like 2 maybe 3 max.

I'll find one, if not, wtf ever...I'll not die from missing a toy, if iwas going to, it would have been when i missed the TRU MP-10 years back...but, i finally have one...

I have no doubt SS will be back again. Question is at what price? TRU needs to make up their mind if they're a major retailer or reseller. They already get a price cut by buying in bulk. They have no reason to up the price other than greed and the aforementioned potential price bump from Hasbro.

For those of you who pre-ordered two for the heck of it: I was out of town and missed the opportunity. My TRU sucks at stocking stuff like this. Can I buy one off of you for $60 plus shipping?

$59.99 is a fantastic price for Starscream! I wish I had enough funds to set aside for the pre-authorization or I would have pre-ordered him for sure.

It's pretty simple: I am unhappy with mp3 and had to pay a much higher price for it, because I didn't get it when it was originally released. I always liked the improvements made with mp11, but wasn't willing to replace mp3 by paying $150 plus again for it. So an opportunity comes by to replace my mp3 at a reasonable price, and somehow that equates to not giving others a chance? I'm not a scalper. I only bought one. Mp11 is available to purchase right now, at a much higher price (which is what happened to me the first time around with mp3). All's fair in collecting, I'm not taking any chances away from anyone. We pay what we're willing to pay based on how much we desire something.

I think by double-dipping he meant people who ordered two or more of this new guy, not people who bought this and a prior MP starscream.

Maybe it's time to change the front page article with a note that POs are sold out hmmm?

I just tried buying a second ago and it said pre-orders were sold out. That means when it re-lists it will be $90. Crap! Oh well. Think I'll pass. I already have MP-11 anyways.

I had the original Wal-Mart Hasbro MP Starscream but I ended up having to sell it (at cost) to help pay a bill. I've been kicking myself but same as décor1, I didn't want to shell out $150-200 for a new one. For $59.99 though, I can now make up for that mistake. I missed the initial pre-order but even at $79.99, that's better than the Takara price tag.

Would someone explain why the price would increase with a second wave of preorders? Is the first preorder wave a discounted price for those lucky enough to get one?
