Yeah they did and I agree that it's likely Sonar on the cover. The shape indicates a bat and so far we have one confirmed bat former which is Sonar.
Also, pterasaurs don't have bat ears, which the cover critter clearly has. Or seems to have at least.
A nice cover art would leave room for the logo. This cover art does not. If anything, it's a nice pin-up poster.
The planet is called Eukaris. It's essentially the Beast Planet, but not really. This planet has a whole bunch of BW characters and is likely where Onyx Prime landed to settle (since every colony has an associated Prime who colonized the planet)
Oh god no. X_X Well Windblade will more or less become Till All Are One next year so don't worry. I didn't know she'd be in it.
The Women of Transformers panel at SDCC told us: The wings certainly aren't reminiscent of the TM2 Sonar toy, as they had claws. My money is still on it being Airazor.
You just quoted them saying that the beast modes would look different, then say that the wings not matching the toy is evidence that it's not Sonar? Maybe it's a non-TM2 Sonar? Airazor just barely resembles her show deisgn, Tigatron's also redesigned. Clearly the old designs aren't really good evidence to go off of.
Sorry, I missed the word 'though' off the end of my sentence. The wings certainly aren't reminiscent of the TM2 Sonar toy, as they had claws. My money is still on it being Airazor, though.
Actually, looking really hard at the cover, there's definitely some kind of thing blotted out by the sun sticking out from underneath the left wing. Maybe it really is Terrorsaur or Airazor, as it could be the beak, with one of the two "eras" being the crest if it's Terrorsaur, and the other "ear" as random kibble perhaps?
So is this intentionally ambiguous, is it just bad, or is there something attached to this animal that we can't fathom because we don't know the story? Or some other explanation? It's causing me great distress over here.
I can only surmise that because this isn't the official cover yet (with the IDW logo and such still to be added), they're keeping the identity of the sky-bound figure a mystery.
Ok, let's see... Red Arrow is pointing to Airazor's beast head. If you zoom in, you can actually see a little bird beak on the end. Blue Arrow is pointing to Airazor's tail feathers. Green Arrow is pointing to an object that isn't attached to Airazor. It could be another character, or indeed a ship or a missile, as the Purple Arrow seems to be pointing to some kind of exhaust fumes.
