I watch this and all I can think is what a wonderful world it would be if they used this game engine and it's models to make a full length G1 movie. It would be glorious!
This makes me want a spiritual sequel to the 1984 transformers movie or a earth based Highmoon game. So gonna pick this up.
Heck yeah!! This looks awesome, super pumped for this. Besides Optimus and Megatron, does any of the other bots and cons have confirmed voice actors? I'd love for Frank Welker to return as Soundwave and Rumble.
Beautiful though the graphics are, I HATE the fact it's set on Earth, you have mass shifting all over the place - one minute you have Bumblebee dwarfed by Blitzwing, which makes sense, then you have Sideswipe the same size as Starscream, then you have Optimus who looks absolutely tiny compared to Devastator etc Also, is it really too much to ask to FINALLY have some of the later, post movie characters take centre stage in a game, rather than the same season 1/2 handful over and over?
My guess is that they're thinking that setting it post movie means you sacrifice a lot of classic characters, Optimus being the most obvious, in favor of a few new ones. Afterall, how many season 3 characters were there - five maybe?
It depends how far into season 3 you want to go, in the beginning you had (as far as I can remember) Autobots Hot Rod/Rodimus Ultra Magnus Kup Blurr Springer Arcee Wreck Gar Decepticons Galvatron Cyclonus Scourge They were the main characters at the start, of course joined by the survivors from G1 as well as season 3 seeing the debut of Skylynx, the Technobots, Sandstorm, Metroplex, the Predacons, Terrorcons, Octane, Trypticon and of course many more, you'd certainly have no shortage of options for creating a varied and interesting roster. Anyway, lets be controversial, and have it set after Rebirth - find out what happened next in the Western continuity.
The way to incorporate the season 3 characters would be to create a game that would fill the gap between the movie and season 2. Some characters like Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge would need to be left out, but it could get Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, Kup, and Springer into the game. Plus it would tell the story as to how the Autobots returned to Cybertron that we have never had before.
