    So what is special about this Stormtrooper anyways? Other than SDCC? Didn't they do that with other Black edition figures from Star Wars (I don't collect them and really don't collect much Star Wars anymore).

    It is the first Episode 7 figure. It is the new Stormtrooper design from Episode 7. The rest of the Episode 7 figures won't be available to purchase until this fall before the movie comes out.

    Yay! Kre-O, Combiner Hunters, and both Marvel Legends sets ordered! Went for the Stormtrooper for my brother first, but it was so slow and it went OOS before my order could go through.

    Just that it is the first figure released for the Force Awakens with special packaging -- that's about it. The figure itself will be at retail by the fall

    The last two Black Series Star Wars SDCC releases had exclusive content. Jabba had his hookah, a railing, and Salacious B. Crumb. As well as the box being a nice diorama piece. While the retail one had... Jabba. At still a high price. Totally not freaking worth it.

    Boba Fett came with a Han in carbonite. Despite promises it would be released again somewhere else, it remains several years later the only place it's been seen.

    The Stormtrooper? Yeah... Yeah it's just packaging and the fact you're getting something from the new movie months ahead of its release (both the movie and the toys). It is literally the first Episode VII toy, which alone is kind of exciting. But then we've not seen the retail release, so it could end up having some difference like less paint for example.
