Is it too much to ask for a lunchbox to replace my old 80's one?

 

The idea of it not being G1 is exactly what weirds me out. The arms are absolutely G1, but Breakdown definitely appears to comprise the entire foreleg. The block I see as the Offroad kneecap appears separate and sitting above the windshield, and the details of the block are consistent with Offroad.
Ignoring all of that, he still appears to use Motormaster's thighs as his waist and Motomaster's knees as his hips, just like the CW toy can.

Point being, I think he won't be in the game just because of the excess of CW design cues, as if the artist for this poster was told to stick another Decepticon Combiner in, so they googled some pics of Menasor and used a fan transformation of CW Menasor and a screencap of G1 Menasor for reference.

Being that this is another damn exclusive that 99% of us fans will not be able to acquire, i do hope for a bootleg reproduction at some point.

 

If you're at comic con, they announced that they'll be distributing more of these at the hasbro booth tomorrow at 9:30am while supplies last. I got mine for playing the game demo on Thursday night at the hasbro booth but I didn't see them handing them out for that all day long, but if you talk to someone at the game demo you can always ask if you can get a poster if you wait to play. Sunday morning is your best bet if you want a practically guaranteed poster.

Has he been announced because it looks like we can see him near Menasor's leg.

 

I see Gamestop tagged this poster. Wonder if this will show up as a pre-order exclusive with them later on down the road.

I wouldn't read to much into the designs here, this is probably done by Guido (I believe I saw on Twitter he did the box art) and he often works in fun little toy and other references into his work -- they may have commissioned it before the game designs were locked down.

 

They should have just called the game Transformers 1986 and crammed the entire cast from Transformers the movie into it.

Now THAT would have been one hell of a ride. especially done up in this style.

 

I don't have much doubt this is how Menasor looks in the game. You can see in the trailer that Megatron has his CW body and Blitzwing his Generations. I imagine the game will use modern toys in Sunbow cartoon aesthetics.

 

Wheeljack, sideswipe, bumblebee, optimus and grimlock are the 5 playable characters.

 

Yep he was a confirmed tank. Looking at the tops of the shoulder it is indeed based on the cw toy as the shape is identicle

 

Sideswipe is based on his generations counterpart. Megatron is based off the cw leader toy as they confirmed he was a tank, the tops of his shoulder match the toy and he has treads on his legs. It seems Menasor is also based on his cw counterpart. They said the story takes place before the 86 movie so its in the g1 continuity, but it seems like generations in a few cases designs were updated which is fine by me.

Nice poster! I kinda want it framed and hanging in my man cave.  

I think the Insecticons are confirmed since we saw some play footage of Kickback getting wailed on while he's in bug/grasshopper mode. Menasor and Soundwave (and his cassette minions) would be awesome.

Wonder if Skywarp will show up, and if each named character will be sporting abilities that they displayed in the show/comics (like Skywarp's teleportation and Thundercracker's sonic booms).

 

Update: spoke to the Producer of the game and asked him, he coyly smiled and said that the poster is not an OFFICIAL confirmation of Menasor.

Also, he said that technically this isn't a G1 game, it's a "Generations" game, which should clear up some of the "Which versions of the characters are they" discussion
