I think that he has two sets of antlers because one is sculpted into his head, one is from the vehicle mode. If I'm not mistaken the antlers on his head become the plow in vehicle mode on the show, but they were unable to replicate that for a Legion class toy.

Oh man, I just realized. Windblade looks like some of the lesser GOBOTs...or maybe one of those Happy Meal Transformers.

    Actually, those are probably better.

I did a big old post and TFW's current spottiness ate it. Damn all this extra SDCC traffic. Damn them I say!

Ahem. Anyway will try to piece together what I said before.

Now I'm a bigger Legion/Cyberverse fan then the average and I have to say these Legion announcements are a bit... eh.

Drift looks mistransformed, his back plate looks like it should flip or pivot downward to reveal his head a lot more.

Thunderhoof/Mooselord looks OK. A curious reversal on the One Step transformation.

White Prime Ultra Magnus repaint is lazy.

Windblade? Uuh. Hmm. I honestly think the pictures are making her look far worse then she really is, but she doesn't look all that great. The thing to remember is this toy is Legion sized, and Iron Factorys effort is a lot bigger, it's current Legends sized yes?

The thing is, there is body detail there that's being washed out by the lighting. Her torso is being hidden by the backplate which becomes part of the alt mode. If you differentiate it she looks significantly better, so maybe a dab of paint would do wonders for her. A quick and nasty Photoshop to illustrate what I mean.

But her arms... are weird. Looking hard at her I think I can see she's like a heavy '07 Blackout retool or something. Seriously, compare her to him,

I really think I can see the similarities. I think. I might be completely wrong. In any case it's all a bit disappointing. But knowing me, I'll probably end up with them all. Because y'know...

    Wot a mug. :(

But can this Windblade fit inside Metroplex's head for brain-talkin' action? :)

Thunderhoof having double antlers doesn't bother me, don't see how else they could have done it.

Also that UM is a new lame.

If you look carefully at Thunderhoof during his transformation, you can see that his antlers actually transform too.

Obviously it's not possible to have transforming antlers like in the cartoon. That's why the legion toy looks the way it does- they tried to fit the antlers from the bot mode and the rake from the tractor on the robot at the same time. Same thing for the one step changer.

I wish they did use the actual antlers as the tractor rake, even if it meant there'd be a bot's head in the middle (facing down, hopefully). That's the type of shortcut I expect from Legion figures.

Windblade is hardly anything amazing, but it doesn't look that terrible.

It has molded details, but this shot looks like unpainted.

Could be salvaged with more paint apps:

Of course there's a question if a Legion class figure will be ever given that many paint apps. And if not, if it's even sensible to spend that much time at customising such a basic toy.

    Not enough Decepticons incoming, though.

Aren't Legions supposed to be an affordable tier for kids? Kids play with their toys. I don't know logic behind skipping Cons, but I do recall back in G2 I needed some Cons as enemies to actually play with figures.

Yeah to me its looks strange. You couldtake the other antlers off and it will still look fine in both modes. Ok vehicle antlers a little small but we have suffered worse.

Maybe as it is in vehicle mode the antlers colapse together hiding the head. I cant see it well enough... Then not sure about what happens in bot mode, if both just stick up or what.

Maybe its not transformed properly in vehicle, maybe the arms are meant to be parallel to the ground which would improve it.

I just spent £3.50, half of what it costs for a legion all at normal retail price and here is what i got(minus the duplo in the back). I dont want to insight hate but come on guys. I love legions.

More of what I said about Generations...very lack luster here. Nice legends but where are the new warriors / deluxe figures????

I was really hoping to see a deluxe Windblade RDA 2015 style! A great major character in the story but all she's getting is a "not so good" legends figure?

Is it me or is it 1989 - 1991 for transformers again...a time of a dearth in creativity and the 2nd lowest point in the toyline's history?

At the very least the line only jumps up in popularity when there is a movie. When is Transformers 5? Exactly!

I'm looking at the RID Legion UM toy and his card art and I just want to do this :banghead:
Come on Hasbro, the toy is already a Prime repaint, will it cost you that much to retool with the UM head to look like the card art? I thought the toy and color scheme actually look good as UM, just wish he got his own head. Feel like I should wait for TTomy for the rescue.

I was thinking that as a possibility. If it's cheap enough, I may try this myself.

    But still...

But it's arms, how. It's forearms connected to the shoulder via wing. I can't see a upper arm area. Is it there?
