Please ask if they will do a Raiden Combiner, and if they plan to give us new molds for future combiners

 

I would laugh hysterically if Hasbro decided to poke at some of the overly critical fandom by having Betatron have a Betamax player as an alt mode which can hold Betamax cassette warriors from Titan Wars Blaster.  

They can battle Soundwave and a VHS version of Rumble and Frenzy.

 

Good to hear. I was watching the Tformers feed that left that out.

 

I wasn't a huge fan of Combiner Wars in the first place (I think the play pattern is genius, but the bots are just too expensive for me to pick up a bunch of Combiners and fully utilize the gimmick), but I can totally understand why people feel snuffed.

Aside from Bruticus, who was mostly retools, there is literally not a single new mold aside from SkyLynx, who isn't even a traditional combiner, coming out through at least early 2016, not counting Legends. It's all just predictable reprints and remolds that just don't make sense- the Masquerade crew worked, but there isn't really a reason to have an entire extra wave of solely Autobot cars.

I don't want to flat out insult Hasbro because I know it can be hard as a business to please everyone all the time, but it really is kind of disappointing when the most well-received reveals are of toys that have been available overseas for years now.

 

I think the main disappointment we're having is that Hasbro has usually set proper expectations well in their reveals between Botcon and SDCC. There were always a lot of nice reveals for the past few years that it was expected by a lot that Botcon won't reveal everything and Hasbro will holding back a lot of cool stuff for SDCC. This was even compounded by hints regarding Titan Wars. The only major things they revealed were Victorion and Scattershot. That's it. The panel was just padded out by the game we already knew, the G1 reissues we also already knew (and for the most part were out) and the MPs most collectors owned already and at least knew they were coming.

If they were still planning to release the Technobots but just not have enough info they at least would have teased about it. We got nothing. I'm not a whiny collector normally but I was really underwhelmed by the panel.

 

So...nothing on Titan Wars? Damn. Disappointed.

At the rate today's going, you might see Thomas the Tank Engine train cars as a Decepticon.  

 

So, Scattorshot is a remake of Silverbolt because of course he is. G2 repaint, G2 repaint, Victorion repaint.

Let me get this straight. 2016 has 2 new molds: Brawl and Skylynx. The other 9000 toys are all remakes.

That's just super.

 

I was hoping for an Armada Optimus Prime retooled out of the Ultra Magnus mold but oh well. I'm loving Victorion right now and I can't wait for her to to be released.

 

When does the panel for Transformers Robots In Disguise 2015 start?

 

I guess this reveal does dovetail staggeringly well with the fact that Scattershot is one of the verrrrry few living Technobots in the IDW universe...but it's not like Scrapper's exactly alive there, either.

 

The answer to just about every question seems to be 'No plans', 'No plans' or 'Wait and see'.

 

So 'Betatron' is the wave mate with Onslaught. We still don't know the Voyager wave mate for Skylinx, so I think there is a lot of room for more stuff. We've also typically only got one wave of limbs at a time along with the voyagers, so we might see Computron limbs later in 2016.

I was really hyped for Titan Wars news and disappointed that we didn't see anything about this. Guess we'll have to wait till next year to hear anything on that. That poor intern that sent the wrong image to the printer.

 

Okay. Now *that* is pretty clever if it's the case. So then once we get past Sky Reign and Bruticus maybe Wave 3 or 4 is the rest of the Technobots.

That Brawl mode is *due* for a repaint/tool at some point. And yes, I'm still banking on a Deluxe Warpath if they aren't able to get Deluxe Groove and have to use the Legends one for Aterburner.
