Each booth does their own thing. The more popular booths have implemented systems for selling stuff. The most popular booths now include hasbro, lego, mattel, bandai and maybe a few others. You will need to read up on each booth to see what their specific procedures are. Hasbro and lego now require tickets that you get upstairs in the sails pavillion. Believe it or not, this is a better system than they had at first. The first year hasbro was at the con it ended up being a free for all and I saw kids and pregnant women getting shoved by crowd rampages. I will give up collecting before I resort to anything like that.

You can also ask people at the booth, but be careful - I have seen them give out inaccurrate advice before. One popular line that you may get is "come back in 10 minutes," which is really just a way to clear the space in front of the booth but won't help you get their exclusives.

 

So.... did anyone get their Devastator today?

 

Anybody in line now? If I can only get there at 5am, is it worth showing up? I heard they're capping it at 4  

 

Also, I was on the fence until I saw the SDCC Devastator in the flesh. Despite the inconsistent purple/chrome plastic, it looks awesome. I hope I can get one  

 

And finally, if I should show up, where is the line going to be?

Huh? Hasbro's part of the "everything else" line, and there's no way they're capping that by 4AM, especially since Sails doesn't even open until later.

Well done tb, you are one of the few people I know that have managed to get into hasbro on preview night. I heard from other people that hasbro was a mess last night.

I have been in line for awhile but am already far back. It's getting harder every year.

 

I've been in line since 5am. Fingers crossed ... I'll let you know if I get a ticket.

 

Crud. The line is OUT OF CONTROL. The official line to get in the convention center was okay, but there is a second line to get a voucher, and that is probably more than a mile long. I think people must have been lining up behind the convention center where that line ends up forming. I wish I had known ...

 

Hasbro's actual booth line (not the line for passes) was stunningly efficient this year. I got a 12PM pass and they let us get in line against the far wall ahead of time (for the first time in at least a couple years) and they walked us up to the booth in groups ahead of 12. I was in and out a little after 12. I've NEVER had it go this easy since the lines really started getting bad in '11.

 

I suggest being there before 4, and it will be in the grassy area to the left of the convention center.

 

I made it through okay. Got stuff and am pretty beat. Glad to be done with it. I hope that everyone else made out okay.

 

So those who got vouchers - did you camp out? Did you wait in the "everything else" line? Or do people gather at the back of the convention center?

 

Can any of you fellow San Diegans help me out with a Dino Charger set from Bandai? Couldn't get tickets this year and would love to have a set for my fiancé. Can meet you near the convention center or anywhere, will even pay a lil bit for the trouble. Thank you guys!
