HI guys. I've just recieved my platinum trypticon. What a big boy he is. Anyway, given my usual problem of not being able to see the instructions because I have no eye sight, I thought I'd post a few questions on here and see if anyone can offer some advice.

First area i'm struggling with is the blaster stands. I have 2 little plastic type pieces with sets of pegs on either end. It seems fairly obvious to me that the flat end with the single peg on each pointing straight outwards, is designed to attatch to Brunts tread in place of the radar dishes in battle station mode. The problem are the other ends. They seem to be slanted at an angle and i'm not quite sure how to attach the single or double barreled blasters to them. Also, can the blasters or stands go anywhere in city mode? For that matter, can you store any off the accessories in dino mode? looks like no to that last point which is a shame as you can with fort max metroplex omega and scorpy.

Next, the confusing problem of the battery covers. How on earth do you insert tryps batteries into his tail? I take it the platinum edition does still walk? certainly the switches for both him and brunt are still there and the cogs feel like they're biting when you put the radar dishes in. I've heard tell you should be able to slide the battery cover off by tugging gently from his back to his tail downwards, but this doesn't seem to work. Any ideas for both him and Brunt guys?

Onto the double barreled cannons on the insides of the feet next, are these supposed to fold flat? they sort of stick down at a slight angle which looks wrong to me, but that does seem a bit of an oversite on hasbrows part so it makes me think it might be intentional. When the foot is flat on the ground, the cannon pushes it away slightly. Maybe to help him walk along by providing a pivot to the ground?

next, the tail wheels. Very odd things indeed. one set rest on the ground. It looks very silly IMHO, but ok, they're there. The other set, seem to not rest on the ground and i don't get that at all. have i mistransformed part of the tail? else why are the other set up in the air? is it just for base mode?

Finally, one difference between g1 and platinum that I've noticed, it appears trypticon no longer has ballbearings on his shins to roll in battle station mode. Has anyone else noticed this? in truth it doesn't really bother me if that's the only change. Are there any other differences people have come across?

    Thanks as always

    Ed.

For the tail battery cover, get a small Philips head screwdriver to remove the battery cover. The screw is in deep and you have to feel around if the head goes in the screw or you might have a risk of stripping the screw head.

You slide the guns into the slots on the connector pieces. The pegs on top are just for show.

Also for the record, Scorponok can't store any of his city mode parts in robot mode either.

TThank you guys.I mannaged to get a long enough driver to unscrew him and Brunt and both are working properly now. I even mannaged to use a light detector to measure Brunts barrel and wow it is bright.

Scorpy can store all his city bits in robot mode though i grant you it's not exactly official. here's how i did it:

Both mechanical arms, i.e. the claw and the... whatever else it is, can be stored to his bun. The elevator can be stored over his tail tip on his back. you can't really notice it most times. The double blasters can be put on the backs and fronts of his shoulders. The radars can go inside his chest, along with fasttracks gun. Fast track himself can be held in the robots claw hand, using the screw peg on his back mounted into the hand that is holding the tower shield. Think that's all the bits.

@Takeshi357, can you explain more about slotting the guns into the little connectors please? i.e. which bit of the gun goes into which connector? also which gun goes into which?

    Thanks.

I believe the two connectors are the same or very similar. The centre flat area of each of the two guns slide into the slot at the one of the connector that has the angled corner. The the guns slide in and will point towards the angled part of the connector, if that makes sense.

Hey Ed, looks like most of your questions have been answered, except the one about Trypticon's tail wheels.
You haven't transformed anything wrong: only one set is supposed to touch the ground. The other set, which is sticking into the air, is actually there for Trypticon's 'attack vehicle' mode: it allows Trypticon to roll across a surface.

Thank you. all seems answered now. I can't for the life of me work out what the point of the stands for the blasters is, they might just as well have made them all one piece, but he's quite a fun toy either way :)
