I like it, but not enough to shell out big money. It's still the R.I.D. aesthetic, which, IMO, isn't the best version of Prime to begin with. Add the fact that the toys have generally been hit or miss with limited articulation, cheapy plastic, and hollowness, and.... ehhh....

I do like that he's big, and I LOOOOOVE that he can store a car! FINALLY! I'm happy to see Prime being sold as a truck AND trailer again!

But with so much other stuff (CW) coming out soon, I'm afraid this guy will get lost in the crowd.

Not to mention that Takara ditched the clip on wheels that Hasbro loves so much and finally have given up proper pin wheels. That alone is a buy for me. Hasbro's version actually has the outside double cheap extruding clip on wheels on the front wheels.

But yes this actually LOOKS like a genuine Transformers toy unlike the cheap plastic, half ass painted figures and windows, double cheap clip on wheels, and flimsy breakable parts that Hasbro loves to make these days. One would think moving production to Vietnam would up the production value but it's actually gotten worse.

I am sorry if this has been asked before , but is this coming out in the States? This looks so freaking cool. I love this design and I would want to pick up this mold.

As of right now, it's Takara only. Hasbro has yet to announce a US release but that could change next week at SDCC. :)

Well it doesn't combine though. :p

I highly doubt that will happen though.

He's the best RID Optimus I've seen yet, but unfortunately, that doesn't mean a lot. I do like the size, the electronics (I miss those), the interactive abilities, the detail, and the relatively increased articulation. However, I agree that the hollow, albeit usable, legs would have benefited by having closing panels for bot-mode, as well as even more numerous joints throughout his limbs.

As it is, I do like him, and I feel tempted to buy him. He just has a neo-Star Convoy feel to him, and that's hard not to like. I'd love a US release of this with Peter Cullen voice-clips and a blue LED instead of the overused red.

Ah, come on Hasbro, why not, there'd be profit in it? (Said in a teasing, whiny, sing-song voice) :D

He looks to be in scale with th deluxe vehicles. Only thing really out of place is grimlock, we really need a voyager line out of this series

Totally. I'd love a Voyager Grimlock, as well as a bigger, better stab at Steeljaw. Doesn't seem like that's too much to ask out of the line.

Now I'm.starting to wonder if Takara uses a better kind of plastic for the swing bars and pegs on sideswipes deluxe. They really go out of their way to make a quality.product and to make a half ass product better.

I'm sure there will be 5 fixes and add ons for Prjmes hollow lower legs.

Damn it! Those pics now made him an instant buy for me, hollow legs is not a deterant.

Hmm, seems like he's sold out at my usual Japan e-retailers. Now checking Asian e-retailers...

This toy REALLY seems like what the TF: RiD toys SHOULD be.

From now on I want to see the trailer integrated with all Primes.

-I like this a lot... SOLD out everywhere already
-I think its hiding some ugly kibble in the back
-I can deal with the hollowness, it serves a purpose here

That Optimus is way too big, has hollow legs, and has electronic lights. Typical of Takara, and right when I was actually interested in one of their figures. I'll stick with the warrior figure.

Agree with all thee above. The entire RID line has hollow figures all around but for this Optimus, the hollow legs serve a purpose(for alt mode). I would hate to see this one as a smaller figure. The Warrior Optimus looks scaled for Legends/Legion figures.

Looks like a pretty cool version of Optimus. Not collecting RID but I can see the appeal for those that want to.

Optimus is like a giant in the RID cartoon, I can see the warrior class figure working with the legend scale...though he might be a bit too big compared to them.....but then again who cares about scale.

Optimus was about a head and a half taller than the other Autobots in the show, so none of the toys are in proper scale.

Still love the details and gimmicks on this one, though I don't have the cash to import it. That and I'm collecting mostly Legions for RID. I migght have gotten this if I wasn't.

The scale and hollowness are necessary for the trailer function, a feature that I think more Primes should have. Really like the integration here. Don't care much for electronics however.
